Murderecords F.A.Q.

Compiled by Murderecords Big Daddy Mike Nelson

I live in Canada; do I have to add money for shipping or taxes?

For Canadian orders use the Canadian prices shown in the online catalog. These include all shipping and tax charges. Payment can be made with personal cheques or money orders. Do not send cash as it can get 'lost' in transit.

I live in the USA; are there any special shipping costs?

For US orders use the US prices shown in the online catalog. These include all shipping and handling charges to the US. Payment can be made with personal cheques or international money orders (in US dollars). Please do not send domestic postal money orders as I can not cash them in Canada.

I live someplace other than Canada and the US; are there any special shipping costs?

All international orders from outside of Canada and the States should use the US prices and then add $5 for surface shipping or $15 for airmail. Payment can be made with personal cheques (in any currency--calculate the equivalent to the US amount) or international money orders (in US dollars).

When's the next time you guys are going to tour [name of town/city/country]?

Any new tour date announcements will be posted on the Tour page of our site. Keep an eye out...

Are you accepting demo recordings or signing new bands?

Murderecords is currently scaled back to a really small operation focused mainly on Sloan and releasing their records around the world.

We have had a number of great bands working with us in the past though, and someday we might expand our roster to include others. For the time being however, the word is: No new artists.

That said, lots of bands do send in promotional material. Some because they are interested in opening for Sloan on one of our tours, others because they just want us to hear the music that they are making. I do listen to all of the music that arrives in my mailbox and it does get filed in our archive of new music. Sometimes I pass the material along to friends who are working at labels who are actively looking for new artists.

So, feel free to send me material if you like. I can make no promises, other than to give it a listen. I listen to some of them a lot and others just once, but they are all appreciated.

My band would like to open for you guys at a gig. Can we work something out?

See above answer.

Are you still selling [item name]? What about promo items?

If it is not listed in the catalog, or it is marked SOLD OUT, then it is really sold out. I may get more stock in for some items in the future. If I do, I will add it to the catalog page. I do not have copies of rarities or radio promo items available for sale.

Posters? Stickers?

Right now I do have some older stock posters in the office. I will mail an assorted poster pack of Sloan and other murderecords artists for $10.00 (CAN/US) to cover the cost of postage and the pain of dragging around those big poster-tubes. I do not currently have any stickers available for sale, but I expect that there will be some available for the release of the new record (October 2001).

Volunteers? Interns?

Murderecords is not currently looking for people to fill volunteer or intern positions. We do not have the space or the staff to support such positions at the present time. If you want to send a copy of your resume, I will keep it on file for future consideration.
