Sloan Spill to MTV.com

A recent article on MTV.com revealed some more details about Sloan's upcoming CD/DVD package.

"A Sides Win: Singles 1992-2005" will be released in early May. It will include two new songs which Sloan have just finished mixing with Dave Ogilvie. Patrick's "All Used Up" will be heading to radio soon, to be followed by Chris' "Try to Make It".

The DVD will feature all of Sloan's videos, a new documentary on the bands experience making the videos, as well as live performances of all of the singles. It is all coming together and it looks really great.

Perfect name!

It sounds like everything I've always dreamed of!
Does this mean the CD and DVD are being sold separately?

This DVD is going to add meaning to my life.
Can't wait to see how far East Sloan's coming this year (Canada)!

Brent

Yea!!!!

No, I have nothing more intelligent to say! :)

Moonlight softly falls
Large titties brush against me.
SHP got nips!
I just screamed like a 3 year old seeing Elmo in concert!

I love me Sloanz :)

The article on MTV made me all giddy. Reissues with bonus tracks... looks like Canadians will have to import Sloan for once. Gosh that's exciting though. ...and Murph saying it's not the end of the road and that there are a lot more songs. Neat neat neat.
Best article I've ever read....although i wish i didn't have to find some way to get those reissues.
Ok, I think I just peed.

I was screaming out loud and then laughing my face off.... The Murph saying "beyond retarded" slayed me!!

I am so excited... and I mean E-X-C-I-T-E-D for this to come out!!!!
And the title is exactly as I would have wanted it. We actually had a thread going on the Sloan Message Board to see if we could guess the title, and someone nailed it on the head!
You should give her a prize!!! (No, it wasn't me!)

Can't wait to buy this up, and there is no doubt I will be buying the rerealeases as well. I'll be first in line!

Addiction is a glorious thing.

Holy geez am I excited. This is sooo incrediably awesome. Man you guys rock my socks right off.
This is great news. I'd have to admit that I'm probably looking forward to the DVD part of A Sides Win moreso than the actual CD itself. Especially being able to finally see all their videos that I've never seen before. However, "All Used Up" and "Try to Make It" sound like gems coming out of the Pentland and Murphy stables to me. On May 10th, you can expect me to be out at my local HMV (or Music World, whatever's closest)! And I look forward to hopefully seeing you guys live again sometime during this tour.
Kanichi San - nice Haiku.

"Beyond retarded". Yep. I love that man.

Haiku?

What's "Haiku?"

Is that some sort of modern pick-up line: "Hey...nice Haiku!"

K.S.

Sorry, but I don't haiku on the first date. Well, unless you buy me a lot of beers and promise to take me to Hawaii . . .

But I digress. Can't wait for the DVD, etc. etc.

Haiku, fuck you, what's the difference?
Murph makes me laugh :)

Anywho, if you have trouble finding the reissues...or want to save some money on them...Maplemusic.com always has Sloan for real good prices :)

I am really excited about the greatest hits! I was hoping that the guys would put Stood up / Same old flame on there cd because I never heard those songs yet.
It's about time! I am very excited about this, especially the DVD portion. Plus, it'll be great to hear all of their older songs remastered. I will gladly re-buy all of my Sloan CDs!!
I was hoping they would have called the album "Endless Winter"...oh well.

Sounds to me like the rereleases will only happen in the US. Can you confirm or deny?

I live in Connecticut in the grand old USA. I've had to import, travel, beg borrow and steal to get my Sloan collection to where it is and for what? To turn around and buy them all over again?? You bet I will! I am looking forward to the DVD/Hit's package as well, but I am much more interested in getting the tune's I don't have on these re-issues. What the hell, I've done it for The Who and other band's, I have to do it for Sloan. The one thing I am pretty sure of...I probably won't have to buy the same CD more than once in this case. (I had to buy three different versions of Live at Leed's and Tommy, until they finally put it all out there.)
I'm wondering the exact same thing as Lisa.
I'm also wondering is anything is being done to other tracks such as "stove/smother" from the DGC Vol.1 collection, or "glad to be here" from Much@Edgefest '99, or "waterfalls" from the Paul McCartney tribute (I may be wrong on knowing where that song comes from), or "a case of you" from the Joni Mitchell tribute (could be wrong again), or the song "pretty together" which I have no idea where it came from, it's not even on pretty together!
and then there's the famous "party album" which actual title is "recorded live at a SLOAN PARTY!", which I myself have a copy of (hehe), but I think everyone should have it 'cuz it rocks!
