The band has been nominated for a whole whack of awards for the 2002 East Coast Music Awards (Album, Group, Rock Group, SOCAN Songwriter, and Entertainer of the Year). The four-day festivities (taking place in St. John, NB) begin Jan 31, and finish off with the awards gala on Feb 3. You can vote for Sloan as Entertainer of the Year by calling 1-900-870-ECMA (3262). There will be a .99 cents charge per call, and voting will continue until Friday, Jan 25 (5pm AST).
This year's ceremony will take a different approach by following a "multi-host format", with Chris Murphy as one of the acting "hosts". The Feb 3 ceremony will be broadcasted nationally on the CBC and CBC Radio Two.
