Hello everybody. It’s been awhile since we have updated our news. We have been busy. Allow me to bring things up to date.
The fall tour was pretty exhaustive. We played 29 shows across Canada. Try naming 29 cities across Canada. Personal tour highlights included:
- Ramones and Fleetwood Mac covers at an open-mic night in Banff.
- Scary, last-minute, improvised sing-along set in Abbotsford.
- Being joined with a full choir and horns for the encore in Belleville.
- Penticton... what the hell?! I did win $100 at the slot machine.
- the rock and roll motel basement in Sioux Ste. Marie. Great water pressure.
After the Canadian tour, we decided to spend a few months at home to focus on our families and friends and make plans for the spring and summer.
Now we have made it into the new year and I have been assured that the year of the monkey will be a good one for Sloan. Our booking agents are hard at work putting together a schedule for our spring touring. We are really looking forward to touring the US, and playing more shows in Canada. The new dates will be announced as soon as they are confirmed.
Thanks for your support. I have enjoyed all of the feedback and fan photos that we have received through this new site, keep up the great work!
Mike Nelson

Yay! Band updates! Thank you, thank you, thank you! *sigh of relief*...I heard that two members will soon be having new additions to their families...is this true? I think one was Jay...anyone know for sure? Anyway, I'm sooo looking forward to the spring tours, and Sloan pleeeease come back to Hamilton!

Just glad to see that the guys havn't settled down into the "pipe and slippers" lifestyle and that a rockin' spring tour lies ahead. Any chance of a return to the U of Guelph? Or are you saving that for the fall? Either way, I'll be sure to make it to at least one of your shows! Take care!

Nothing wrong in being in a nice comfortable pair of slippers. They can even wear them when rockin' on stage. Oh, there goes Jay with the pink ones... *smiles* blue I mean.
I'm probably going to be waiting for 2 years.. approximately.. that's okay, I can wait even longer if I have to. A Sloan concert is certainly well the wait.

Would love for Sloan to visit San Francisco. We have a great Canadian contingency down here and promise a big turn out for any show. Need a place to sleep? We've got a groovy pad in the Mission. You guys are welcome anytime. BTW, love the new album.

I certainly hope that the upcoming US Tour in the spring includes stops in or near the Chicagoland area. We have some excellent venues that would be fabulous "stomping grounds" for a band with the high-octane talents of Sloan.I've been an American fan since I heard "Between the Bridges" at a Martini bar in Indianapolis,IN.Since that time, I can't get enough of your terrific blend of vocal harmonies overlayed by swirling musical leads filled with amazing pop sensabilities.I have to say that the band as a whole has been a great inspiration for my own song-writing and guitar playing.Keep up the superior work, guys!! Canada certainly rocks!! :)

This wonderful news is certainly long overdue, but hell, we're not complaining. Los Angeles is eagerly awaiting the release of those US Tour dates. I've been shamefully out of touch, but know that I am ready and waiting to help in any way that I can to assist Sloan's efforts in... taking over the world!
Also, Benefit talk soon? ; )
xoxo.

Please come to St. Louis again. If you are doing any U.S. dates in April, The Gargoyle (Washington University's campus rock club) would be a good fit--it's the only small, all-ages venue I could see you guys playing at (there's another one, but it's more of a punk/hardcore rock club). Otherwise, the Rocket Bar would be a close second (18 and up, but better than 21 and up).
Just throwing that out there.

As a long time Sloan fan, I feel completely justified in demanding Denver dates...

I know you guys hate St. Catharines cause the crowds are dead.......but come back.....I am lazy and don't want to drive to Toronto to see you guys......If not St. Cath them come a little closer.....
Please *smile*

Please come to Columbia, SC when you tour the US! I saw you in Atlanta, GA in 96 or 97. I has been a long time. I really enjoyed that show.

And don't forget how great that Grand Rapids Michigan show was back in '02. :) You definitely want to come back here!
Ian McCartney - March 7, 2004 6:55 PM
hey, im FROM Penticton, you guys reeealy shouldnt have played the barking parot, just across the street at the gyro bandshell would have easily grabbed and audience of around 500 people, if you would have just fenced it off... or had a free concert, or.... kelowna perhaps..... nobody under 19 could get into the parot, for it is a bar! so I bussed out to vancouver to see you guys, best concert I have ever seen, I have floor tickets for Bowie though, so it might change soon.... sorry

Hello,
I realize that the last thing you guys want is a request to
play yet another town, but there are worse places in the
world to play than Morgantown, West Virginia. In the event,
however, that you can't make it down to this humble little
university hamlet, I'd gladly use the upcoming Sloan tour
as a good excuse to go back up to Boston. Think it over.
I can't get enough of "Action Pact". Best album of 2003!!

The best surprise of my day...seeing the new tour dates posted here! I'm so going to be at either that London concert or the Kitchener one, whichever works better for me. I'm really pumped for it thuogh, hopefully I'll still be able to concentrate on studying for finals and stuff, lol. Anyways, see you guys at the show, rock on!

Woo Hoo!
Been hoping for a Boston show and now I got one! Nothing will ever top Palais Royale, but I am stoked!
Lyle - April 11, 2004 11:29 PM
So how about a real show in Halifax some time soon?
