Thanks yall for a good touring run this past year. Saw you and talked to you briefly in NC and then Atlanta, and then caught the Festival Show in Toronto, man that was a great show. Well deserved rest is in order, and you're back home in time for the fall hockey leagues! 8)
Hope you'll do some gigs in Toronto, DJing or playing, for those of us who live local. Peace~~
Michelle - October 6, 2004 7:54 PM
Definitely, you guys deserve some rest! As much as I'd love to see you live again soon, I'd much rather hear some new material. I have an insatiable appetite for new Sloan. (It's a problem, really--I'm working on that.) I think it's time for a double album!
Hannah - October 6, 2004 8:14 PM
Nice to have you home again! Get some rest. See you in Hamilton. :)
Steve - October 6, 2004 8:27 PM
Great to see you guys in Cape Breton. Thanks for being such a nice guy Mr.Ferguson.
James and Sophie - October 6, 2004 10:44 PM
Hey, maybe we'll get a chance to run into you on the streets of Toronto... Any chance you'll play one last show here? Either way, have fun with the new material - a new album would be fab!
Alison - October 7, 2004 12:39 PM
Catchy title...
Melissa - October 7, 2004 6:38 PM
not that i have any say over this
but you should record all winter and then hit the road again circa march
and you should just come to new york every other weekend and play lol
Melissa
Holly - October 8, 2004 11:46 AM
You guys are coming to Hamilton!!! That's amazing!!!! I can't even belive that i've got to see you guys 3 times this year. Look for me in the front row! yahhh!
riley - October 8, 2004 1:56 PM
yes, can hardly wait for new material. are you guys doing a dvd, soon? i noticed at nyc shows, someone filming/talking w/fans, pre & post gig.......that would be extraordinary!
Josh Salter - October 8, 2004 7:23 PM
I'm sad I couldn't make it up to Cape Breton to see the show.
I think the next year should have Sloan recording their "Trans".
allanb - October 11, 2004 3:12 AM
I have to agree with Melissa. A few Long Island shows would be nice. You would reduce my commute time, and as we know, it's all about me.
tresca - October 12, 2004 3:49 PM
My god, that guy Dewey actually follows you on the road. (see above). Yes, Jay, you are a nice guy. Talked to you for one second in SF...you were carrying an Amoeba records bag that looked like it was full of goodies. But did I ask you what you had purchased? No, I didn't...what a maroon! Have been listening to and seeing the band since Smeared. How did we get so old?
Mariko - October 13, 2004 12:21 PM
October 14th, Happy Birthday JAY(^_^)/
Lydia - October 14, 2004 2:35 PM
Happy Birthday Jay!!
DeeDee - October 14, 2004 3:33 PM

nina - October 14, 2004 4:16 PM
Ditto. Happy birthday, Jay!
Charlotte - October 14, 2004 4:21 PM
Hey, hey! Happy Birthday Jay!!!
Congrads to Sloan on yet another awesome tour! Can't wait for the next one!
(Please come to Kingston! Queen's loves Sloan!!)
Ryan P - October 14, 2004 6:10 PM
New Material is fine by me. Does that mean we can safely assume that a new album expected within the next year? Also, happy Bday, Jay, what do you think you'll be getting as a present this year? A new Rickenbacker guitar? If so, i'll be more than happy to take your old one off of your hands for you (hey, I can dream).
Eric - October 14, 2004 7:06 PM
Hi, regards to Jay today...I also second the "Queens loves Sloan" comment, but I think there should be a new album before any more touring. Also, the new album should have a new colour scheme...how about something like green or yellow for a change? (The last two both were both orange - they were different nonetheless...but something new would be cool!)
Melissa - October 14, 2004 7:56 PM
OHHH I HAD AN IDEA SLOAN !
(While i was waiting for the freaking Libertines to get to rehearsal the other night I did some thinking )
You should release a 'cd box' almost and have 4 cds
on each cd you should have a different member of Sloan doing leads
ex. cd 1- Chris, cd 2- Jay , cd 3- Andrew, cd4-Patrick
That would be snazzy and cool!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAY!!!!!!!
<3 Melissa
KEE Miranda - October 15, 2004 10:43 AM
Happy Birthday Jay!!! I'm beyond excited about the Hamilton show. Can't wait. Jay could you please play SNOWSUIT SOUND & FALSE ALARM!!!
My friends and I want to hear those the most because they weren't played when I last saw you. I know you can't please everyone but give it some consideration.
Thank-you ~Luv ya~
Melissa I like your idea about a 4 cd boxed set, but I think having one disc per guy would be strange because I like a good mix and I'm too lazy to keep switching cd's.
I LOVE PATRICK!!!!!!!!!
Erin - October 15, 2004 7:33 PM
The show at Acadia University rocked. I got so excited I peed my pants...twice! Nice to see such talent come out of Halifax...you guys should really come home more often!
Jani - October 17, 2004 8:04 AM
Cheers for your latest album and for all the tourin you've been doing, it's great!
Now I only wish that you can come here to Spain, we're wating for you, I'd love to see you some day not so far away...
All the best for you guys and have a good and well deserved rest.
Jani.
Melissa - October 17, 2004 9:18 PM
I know what you mean KeeMiranda-
I like a good mix of Sloan too but the boxset thing would be sort of interesting.
Then again i'd probably sit here and make a mix of my favorite off of each cd and make it into one little mix anyway lol.
By the way Sloan...
When are you releasing that dvd? (Assuming that some video footage from the tour would become released....hopefully :) )
Lots of Love
Melissa
chantelle - October 18, 2004 3:16 PM

I Tell you this......
I am sick as a dog today and I was lying in the backstage area of the place I work at, thinking to myself 'I'd feel better if I had some Sloan music right now....Sloan is my medicine'
lol its the truth!!
on this subject, Does anyone else think 'At the Edge of the Scene' should reappear live?
Melissa

I agree.... 'At the Edge of the Scene'... FANTASTIC!!
Antonietta - October 25, 2004 11:44 PM
Let the time apart be inspirational. Relax, refresh, and reinvent. If you have that itch to play a gig...we need some more rock and roll in Thunder Bay it is only 19 hour drive from Toronto.

how about some info in Sloan's ivolvement in the movie "Childstar". I heard Chris does a solo song for the soundtrack
Beth - December 1, 2004 7:56 PM
Can someone "official" verify the above bit about Sloan in Windsor on 12/12? I'm potentially flying an awfully long way to see this, so I don't want to fly in vain!!
Thanks much!
gammj - December 4, 2004 8:44 AM
windsor show = fake. just some over anxious wannabe promoters posting that info.
Andy - December 4, 2004 8:53 PM
Quick question: are the Chris Murphy and Andrew Scott who play on the new Jakalope album who I think they are?
nina - December 5, 2004 8:29 AM
They most certainly are.
pete - December 6, 2004 9:37 AM
Hey how about while putting together this new material we go back to the old format of several songs from each man in the band. I missed Andrew's tunes on Action Pact. Other than that, only praise, no complaints.
maga - December 10, 2004 1:18 PM
i don land
Melissa - December 13, 2004 1:39 PM
oh, a DVD would be nice my VHS tapes are getting all wonky......
Russell - December 16, 2004 10:36 AM
Sloan should totally hit up the WEST side of Australia in 2005... not just the east side, but the WEST side! Please ressurrect Jellyfish and bring them with you, aswell as The Wondermints!
Nik - December 20, 2004 1:21 PM
I totally agree with Russell!
Please visit Perth!
Chris Speer - December 22, 2004 10:53 AM
I was wondering if anyone could recommend some events, venues, or cool resteraunts in Toronto? My wife and I are visiting there for the first time between 12-27 and 12-30. We're big music fans and were looking for a cool show or something to go to. Anyone have any suggestions?
Kurt McNeil - December 23, 2004 11:02 PM

Jamey - January 7, 2005 8:04 AM
Sloan is awesome. You are all funky like a monkey JACK! I also love Sly and the Family Stone, you guys should get some of that funky guitar in there like from the song "Family Affair" or "I want to Take You Higher". By the "The Other Man" is one of the best songs I've heard in a really long time.
