Re-enjoy!!
Koch Records have started to re-issue our back catalogue in the United States.
August 9th saw the release of Smeared and Twice Removed. September 6th will see One Chord To Another and Navy Blues on the shelves.
Between The Bridges and Pretty Together are scheduled for an early 2006 release date, as these records are newer and still floating around stock rooms.
These are straight re-issues in their classic form to replenish your friendly neighbourhood record store’s Sloan section.
For our newer fans this is a great way to catch up on what you’ve been missing. For the die-hards, it’s a great way to replace those worn out copies.

I think I'll buy BtB again. My copy is a very worn out Digi Pak. Am I saying that right? Digi Pak? Whatever...

What happened to all the bonus tunes that were supposed to be on the reissues??
nippleholic - August 31, 2005 1:14 AM
Yeah, I wouldn't mind if these re-issues included the Japanese bonus tracks on each respective album. At least it would be more incentive to buy an album you already own.

Yay SLOAN!

hey now I can actually replace the case to navy blues that i lost like the week after i originally bought it! hooray!

Will Sloan consider releasing a "rareties" record with B-sides and stuff?
VH-1 jumped the gun and mentioned the re-issues will include B-sides etc....

yeah, i saw smeared & twice removed the other day @amoeba, SF but no extra tracks listed on the back(unless they're secretly 'bonus tracks', which KOCH should have done...). have never EVER heard 'helen' or 'had enough', circa pretty together.....
Andy - August 31, 2005 2:49 PM
I'm glad there are no bonus tracks. This means you can release a double disc b-sides disc, "B Sides Lose"
Nikki - August 31, 2005 3:35 PM
I think a b-sides and rarities album would be excellent! All we get in the UK are the albums (and even then most have to be purchased from Amazon). I think the only Sloan album I didn't buy from t'internet was my 12" vinyl Smeared album.

Re-issues are fine and all, but do my eyes deceive me? September 27th in GUELPH!!! It's been two years in the making, but I'll finally be able to get to see Sloan in my half hometown again!!!!! THANK YOU Mike Nelson, and THANK YOU Sloan!! I've been pushing you guys for awhile now to come to this fair city, and I had almost given up on all hope....but now, my wish has come true! You can bet your asses that I'll be there front row center. Well, maybe front row left or right, I'll have to flip a coin or something. Anyways, this is great, thanks again!

Whew, I just found out about this AFTER I returned from New York City, and I was about to get pretty pissed about missing the bonus tracks (I had no clue, I was running around the record stores going "Hmm, why are there so many copies of Smeared and Twice Removed?" Yeah, not so hot on the uptake). So selfishly, I'm glad that there aren't any, but a B-sides disc, whether it Wins or Loses, would be very welcome.
Also, some sort of ALL-AGES show in Calgary sometime soon (U of C, which got bypassed last year, perhaps?) would ALSO be very welcome ...!
Nikki - September 3, 2005 6:58 AM
As well as a B-sides album, it would also be fantastic to hear another live album. We've not had that since the 4 Nights.. CD. I've love to hear some of the more recent music live, because let's face it, Sloan aren't coming to England, are they?
BriGuyPEI - September 7, 2005 8:19 AM
My prediction for the title of the long anticipated rarities album (whenever they decide to put one out):
"I Raise My Glass to the B-Sides"
Nikki - September 7, 2005 3:08 PM
An excellent title methinks, BriGuyPEI!
Kommander Kool - September 10, 2005 12:49 AM
sorry guys but I'm pretty happy that there isn't any bonus tracks on the re-issues cuz it would make us Canadian folks insane knowing you have more than us (which isn't much, really), like the fans in Japan.
but a b-sides/rarities disc would be insane! I just keep thinking how much they could make every sloan fan out there happy when they fall in love with d is for driver, and stood up, and same old flame, and out to lunch, and work cut out, and glad to be here, and summer's my season, and at the edge of the scene, and pretty together, and helen....
could they possibly put on waterfalls and a case of you? and the party album! okay my head is spinning now haha.
what else can they put on? anyone?.....anyone?......Bueller...?
btw does anybody have a bootleg the boys playing the guess who's shakin' all over in Winnipeg at Edgefest '98?
Chris - September 11, 2005 1:08 PM
jeez. it's about time.
Ruh - September 18, 2005 8:40 PM
Hey Kommander Kool, check out the Sloan message board at yupislyr.com. You will probably be able to find someone who can get you what you want.
Kommander Kool - September 22, 2005 8:36 PM
I actually do have everything that I did list, and also Stove/Smother, In The Mood, Step On It Jean and Will You Ever Love Me Again?......and the party album! yes, I do mean the original Enclave issue, yay! (which, for anybody that cares, the actual title is "recorded live at a SLOAN PARTY!"
I wanted to list this partly to show off what a badass Sloan collection I myself own (except for "shakin' all over"), but mostly for anybody out there that isn't aware this stuff exists.
Thank you for the tip though, very kind of you. I hope someone else can find something they themselves do not have.
Yay, Sloan Fans!!
