I hope Sloan closes.
Mike
Aleta - August 10, 2005 5:25 PM
I think David Usher is closing and that sloan play second.
Jason - August 10, 2005 11:58 PM
Aren't Sloan also opening for Foo Fighters on Saturday, August 13?
gammj - August 11, 2005 12:32 AM
we've gone over this before..... no, they aren't
Antonietta - August 11, 2005 2:07 AM
Have we heard any updates on any last minute ticket findings?
It seems that I always find out what Sloan is doing at the last minute.
I could really use a Sloan concert right about now... meh
For all you lucky ducks going to the show on Friday rock out and keep sloan on stage as long as you can!
Antonietta - August 11, 2005 2:08 AM
Wait a second it is not 3 am... only 2am...Toronto Time
alfred - August 11, 2005 5:40 AM
Are there reserved seats for this thing? I just saw a pic of the stadium- it's outdoors and it's huge!
jeff - August 11, 2005 6:14 AM
I've got an extra ticket that's free (obviously!) to anyone who'd be able to drive three of us up to the show from downtown Toronto, then back downtown after Sloan's done playing. Anyone? TTC up to York is going to suck.
Maria - August 11, 2005 4:26 PM
Hey...I won two tickets but unfortunately something has come up. If there is someone how really wants to go to this show email me and I'll hook you up.
Antonietta - August 11, 2005 7:16 PM
Ha Ha! I just got an email saying that I won tickets! Sweet Deal. Ah crap. It starts at 5:30...does this mean... doors or a band actually starts to play?
vector - August 12, 2005 6:00 AM
Anyone know if it's assigned seats or if it's general admission, or if you get there right at 5:30, you get a better seat than if you arrive later?
mike ross - August 12, 2005 9:10 AM
It's general admission guys. The earlier you get there the better a spot you get. Gates open at 5:30, show starts at 6:15. I read somewhere that Sloan might be on around 8:00, but I'm not sure.
A Big Thank you to Mike Nelon for getting all these tickets for us!! Mike, us Sloan fans are very grateful!
Karen - August 12, 2005 11:43 AM
Ditto on what Mike just posted. A huge, huge, HUGE thank you for thinking of the fans. It is incredibly appreciated. I can't wait for tonight! See you all there!
Antonietta - August 12, 2005 10:37 PM
It was fantastic!! Got all the way up to front. However, from the SLOOOOOOAAAAANNNN chants all of you guys were on the right side of the stage. What happened over there with Jay? I missed it... I would have offerred a hug.
I agree... THREE CHEERS FOR MIKE for taking care of Sloan Fans!
Karen - August 12, 2005 11:38 PM
Sloan kicked ass. Thanks to the guys for inciting the fans to swarm the floor! Once again, many, many, many thanks to Mike for getting us those tickets!! Oh - and of course, thanks to the guys for a great show!
Aleta - August 13, 2005 1:11 AM
Great Show guys! Jay seemed really pissed at the beginning when he was having a few technical problems but other then that it was awesome. Patrick it was great meeting you as always but where the heck were the rest of the boys?
Allegra - August 13, 2005 1:30 PM
Lydia and I had an amazing time last night (it's good to be recognized!). Thanks for playing Take Good Care of the Poor Boy and for talking to us afterwards, Jay! Geez, it seems that all I do these days is thank Jay for stuff...
Chris, you made our night. You know what you did... If only I had a camera! The drumstick sits next to the picture of me playing with you in March.
Thanks to everyone who made my night as amazing as it was!
Joel - August 13, 2005 6:23 PM
Guys, that was awesome. Props for really getting the crowd involved, you stole the show. This was my first Sloan show, and hopefully I will be able to attend a lot more. I certainly will go the next chance I get. I've never seen a band that is so personal and so "themselves" on stage. I would have left the centre on a high if you guys played last... that was unfortunate. Anyway, great job guys, I would have paid to see that performance!
Lydia - August 13, 2005 6:50 PM
Wicked show!! Lots of fun!! Hearing Take Good Care of the Poor Boy was especially awesome!! Thanks to all the guys for putting on a killer show, and big thanks to Mike for the tickets!!
nippleholic - August 15, 2005 12:29 AM
Anyone see the guy's surprise performance at the Foos show last night?
I was hearing rumours that they were going to play a surprise set, but couldn't believe it until I saw it.
It was a solid set, but seemed somewhat sloppy to me. But a pleasant surprise nonetheless.
mike ross - August 15, 2005 10:14 AM
I did catch the 'surprise' opening for the foo's. We saw Andrew walking around before the show so I thought that along with the t-shirt sales was a good sign. Many people in my section were just waiting for the foo's so they weren't into it, but more and more people were out of their chairs towards the end.
If you missed it shame on you. Sloan was really good and the foo's were just amazing! Two of the most entertaining front men in rock, Chris Murphy and Dave Grohl.
Kel - August 15, 2005 3:51 PM
I caught the boys opening for Foo Fighters... I wasn't aware that it was a "surprise" I knew all along that Sloan was on the bill along with the Constantines (I went to higschool with the drummer and lead singer of that band - they're great & everyone should check them out) I also bumped into Andrew (caught him walking through the crowd) before the show.
It's been a while since I have seen Sloan live, and I just need to say that I have NEVER had anything but a great time at their live shows. It's refreshing to see people who enjoy what they do. That vibe is intoxicating and contageous... I love 'em... what more can I say?

Methinks an England gig is absolutely necessary.
C'mon, c'mon, c'mon
