Oh great, just terrific.
I just heard yesterday aboot this news and tickets for the Foos went on sale last saturday.
Most of the best seats are already gone.
now what am I gunna do? I don't even wanna see Foo Fighters.
Jeff - June 28, 2005 10:02 PM
Yeah! I heard rumblings of Weezer w/ Foo Fighters and thought that would be cool. I picked up tickets not knowing who was opening and when I saw Sloan would be, I was pumped. I saw them in Calgary in May and it's gonna be awesome seeing them in a venue like the Saddledome. Can't wait.
Mariko - June 28, 2005 10:42 PM
Yay Sloan!
Colin - June 29, 2005 2:00 AM
Yeah, that's cool. But they didn't announce that Sloan was opening till a few days after tickets went on sale. $50 is a bit much for just the Foo Fighters but them AND Sloan would probably be worth it. Unfortunate, but I'm sure they'll be back in town soon enough.
Mae - June 29, 2005 10:31 AM
What about Toronto?
Melissa - June 29, 2005 11:03 AM
Sloan should pull a 'String Cheese Incident' thing...you know when they put their fans on buses and let them travel from show to show with them. That would be awesome. It was like a one time fee lol.
I think it was String Cheese who did it.
Chris - June 29, 2005 5:47 PM
Too bad the Foos don't come to eastern canada (summersault does not count). I think foo fighters and sloan could put off an awesome show at Mile One Stadium in St. John's.
Rob Bachman - June 29, 2005 11:18 PM
Sloan and the foo fighters, (yes i mentioned sloan first) gonna be fucking awesome, wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Jaren Love - July 1, 2005 12:18 AM
Shouldn't the Foo Fighters be opening for Sloan?
Li - July 1, 2005 4:44 AM
Yes. Hella right.
Anyway, why can't Sloan make this year's ACL? If they came I'd come again despite the freaking high prices this year.
Nikki - July 1, 2005 8:53 PM
I think this bill will be great for the fans & also for the Sloan. Foo Fighters are a really solid band live, and I look forward to seeing them again. It will also be nice to attend a concert where I'm not bored stupid by the opening band. I hope the tour is very fun fpr you guys and exposes the band to some new fans. Whoever hooked Sloan up with this gig is a very smart person!
cheers,
nikki
Bia - July 3, 2005 4:41 PM

Sunni - July 7, 2005 10:17 PM
Can't wait to see you guys in Edmonton. :):):)
Kommander Kool - July 8, 2005 10:12 PM
I bit the bullet and bought 2 tickets, good thing I knew somebody at work that had extra floor tickets!
I wonder if Chris'll be shouting "C'mon, we're in an arena! Do it! Do it!"
I'm pretty sure they'll play All Used Up, but I'll shit my pants if they play Try To Make It!
CrazyDavey - July 9, 2005 3:14 PM
COME TO TORONTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mike - July 11, 2005 8:38 PM
C'mon and play Toronto too!! It's not fair the rest of Canada gets to see you and we don't!!!!
Now I hate sloan - July 11, 2005 10:38 PM
I've been informed that Sloan will not be playing Toronto.
Foos are rediculously good live. Unbeatable, but it would be amazing to see Sloan there too.
Too bad.
Hey the Cons are still playing and they're pretty damn good!
c'est moi! - July 12, 2005 4:23 AM
guh! i'd see them if it weren't the foo fighters.
Bia - July 13, 2005 10:21 PM

Meh - July 14, 2005 9:51 AM
So I wonder why they aren't doing the Toronto show as well, it's not like there's another show they're doing that day or anything like that! Are the Foos too cheap to hire them for one more date or what?!?!
Dave - July 16, 2005 9:18 PM
Chartattack has Sloan opening the To show too.
http://www.chartattack.com/damn/2005/07/1512.cfm
But, I know the official stuff comes from here.
Mike - July 18, 2005 12:06 PM
Please play the Toronto show!!! I know Sloan should headline a Toronto show but Sloan and the Foo's on the same bill in Toronto would be amazing.
Deanne - July 19, 2005 3:02 AM
Cool, The Sloans and The Foos together on one bill. What could be better. I can't wait !
Chris - July 20, 2005 1:03 PM
When The Foo Fighters are in Toronto The Constatines are opening for them.
nippleholic - July 20, 2005 5:51 PM
just heard on the radio that Sloan is playing at the Rexall Centre (York University) with Finger 11 and some other band i didn't catch the name of on August 12...
melissa - July 20, 2005 7:54 PM
aww all this sloan talk makes me miss my Sloan!!! :( (and i saw them last month)
hmm new york isn't too far from canada...
i am going through serious withdrawal
Hannah - July 20, 2005 11:33 PM
WHAT??? August 12?? Can anyone confirm this????
nippleholic - July 21, 2005 2:13 AM
Yup...there's a big ad in this weeks Eye magazine:
Sloan
Finger 11
David Usher
+ special guests
Friday, August 12 - Rexall Centre
Thw only way to get tickets from what I can gather from this ad is if you activate a new Rogers Ericsson phone, you'll get 4 free tickets to the show. Or if you're alreay a Rogers customer, you can text "TENNIS" to 4784 for a chance to win tickets.
Hopefully they're gonna play somewhere else in the GTA where I can see them without having to jump through such hoops.
Hannah - July 21, 2005 8:43 AM
Oh god, that is just gross....
Way to go big business!
Email Mike, see what he can do for you.
mike - July 21, 2005 12:30 PM
If Sloan's playing in Toronto on the 12th is there any chance they could still play the Foo's show on the 13th? It would be such a shame for them not to do that show.
Sancho - July 21, 2005 8:56 PM
Grrr!!! If they're playing in T.O. the night before anyways, why don't they just do the Foos show too!!!! This better just be some cruel suspense en route to a cool suprise like they just happened to show and play anyways because they happened to be in the area!! Guys! Come on!!
Jasmine - July 22, 2005 9:39 PM
Whether Sloan plays with The Foo Fighters or not... they need a Toronto date... everyone is dying for a Sloan concert around here!
Kommander Kool - July 23, 2005 9:53 PM
wow, what a bunch of whiners in Toronto!!
you guys just gotta have it all, don't you?
it's not good enough that they're both coming to your town (like every huge act on the fucking planet does), but you still need to bitch about them not being on the same bill.
Sancho - July 24, 2005 6:28 PM
Yep, we just deserve it more what can I say. Kool comment though!
George - July 26, 2005 9:21 AM
That's why everyone hates Toronto.
Beth - July 26, 2005 12:17 PM
Mike/Sloan - consider adding yourselves to this festival lineup. It would give us Torontonians what we're begging for, AND you could play with Joel Plaskett! (although Sloan + Plaskett together onstage = more than I could handle).
http://www.eartothegroundfest.com/welcome.html
Sept 16-18, you're not doing anything, are you...?
Guy - July 26, 2005 7:28 PM
Wern't they supposed to be playing some east coast dates as well in September? We're Sloan-starved, guys!
Ruh - July 27, 2005 12:39 AM
So ... not much to do with the Sloan/Foo bill, but lots to do with the recent Calgary gig at the Whiskey. Dude, guys, next time you're here would you mind playing an all-ages venue? :P This is the third time Sloan's been in my area, and the third time I haven't been able to go. First time it's been an age issue, but I just seem to have crappy luck when it comes to your gigs. Think of the young'uns!
Otherwise, though - the Foo are lucky to have you four on their bill, they should maybe think about reversing it next time though (the more Sloan, the better).
Maybe one day I'll actually be able to see you guys live, too - haven't managed it yet, sadly.
Chris Kibler - July 28, 2005 8:06 AM
Foo Fighters are good, but Sloan should definitely headline the show.
A Normal Fan. - August 3, 2005 9:53 PM
o my gosh.....who gives a rats about the foo fighters.....SLOAN IS THE FRICKING BEST....Who dosen't like they're music?
Sancho - August 14, 2005 1:16 AM
Sloan, I love you guys! You made it! Sloan & The Foo Fighters! What an awesome show! Mark it on your calanders folks, some serious ass-kicking went down August 13, 2005 @ the Molson Ampitheatre in Toronto! What a night!
mike ross - August 14, 2005 1:44 PM
Alllllllright! The Sloan singers played Molson Ampitheatre after all! Awesome little set by Sloan and them some serious, and I mean serious rocken' from the Foo's. Amazing show! Ear's still aren't right. Thanks a bunch for finding a way to play the show!
Kevinadian - August 14, 2005 1:45 PM
I won tickets to the Foo Fighters on Canada Day - I saw that Sloan supported the Foos in Western Canada, but they were never indicated for the Toronto show (even hours before the show I didn't see any evidence online). When I arrived at the show and saw Sloan swag - well, I didn't let myself believe it until they walked on stage. The FF were great, but seeing Sloan was the highlight for me. Great show, guys.
