The band shot the video for "All Used Up" this past Thursday, March 10. Look for Patrick's trusty Randy Rhodes Flying V knock-off that he hasn't rocked with since his days in The Convulsions and Happy Co. The single is scheduled to hit radio next month. We'll keep you updated as to when you may start the request onslaught.
Update: Here are some photos from the video shoot...

I adore this news. And I will attempt to restrain my request onslaught. My fave game: Sloan, May I?
The I Can Feel It Girl - March 11, 2005 10:59 AM
NO NO NO NO!!!!! I was coming onto the site this morning with the thought of writing a cute little post about how I would like to offer my services as a video exrta if a video for "All Used Up" was ever made.
Well I'm really happy that you guys made a video, it's been a long time coming. I hope it'll be on the DVD, but that's pushing my luck.
Take care guys. Can't wait to see you on tour real soon.
Miranda
XOXOXOXO

Hannah - March 11, 2005 6:51 PM
Do you mean this old thing??

Very excited to hear about this news, but I, like Ms. I Can Feel It, was hoping I would get a chance to drop my responsibilities and head down to be in the new video. (We could have car-pooled girlie!!)
Chris - March 11, 2005 10:39 PM
This is awesome. Patrick's singles always rock, can't wait to see the video. I love how everything with this album seems to be progressing so fast.
wazza - March 11, 2005 10:52 PM

mickey aihara from tokyo - March 12, 2005 6:13 AM

i found the sticker of "band wagonesque"(teenage fanclub) on Patrick's V.
lovely ;)
i'm really excited about the video.
Melissa - March 12, 2005 9:46 AM
Awww this made my morning!!
So glad to see that Murph is keeping of the moustache ( i was not a fan )
My poor unsuspecting guitar student is going to learn a Sloan song this morning now
Melissa :)
Melissa - March 12, 2005 9:47 AM
And if I could really spell at this time of day, that sentence should have been
"So glad to see that Murph is keeping OFF the moustache"
Deanne - March 13, 2005 5:11 AM
So much Sloan news to catch up on! Great news and congratulations about Chart magazine all around, happy to hear about a new dvd/cd, new Sloan is always exciting. But out on tour again, that rocks. Looking forward to hearing /seeing the new single. Even so, it was nice hear Chris say they have plenty more songs as well that means more future Sloan. The photos of the video shoot are cool, I'd always wondered what Jay would look like through a hole in the wall.? LOL
Miranda - March 13, 2005 4:01 PM
Is it just me, or is Sloan get hotter with age?
Lisa (Halifax, NS) - March 13, 2005 6:22 PM
It's not just you.
Melissa - March 13, 2005 9:00 PM
definatly
Props - March 13, 2005 10:24 PM
Good going Chris.. 'Napoleon Dynamite' was AMAZING.
Your best work ever! You are hilarious in that.
Hannah - March 14, 2005 1:05 AM
Tina you fat lard, come get some ham!
KIPPLING DYNAMITE - March 14, 2005 1:27 AM
"Yes I love technology, but not as much as you you see. But I still love technology. Always and Forever!"
Allegra - March 14, 2005 2:55 PM
Well that certainly makes me week much MUCH more enjoyable.
I'm convinced Chris must have a pact with the devil, 'cause he still looks 25.
This is the best news I've heard in forever, and as soon as a Toronto tour date is added I can start my slow and steady decline into the criminally obsessed.
And I'm amazingly confused about the whole Napoleon Dynamite thing.
Morrigan - March 14, 2005 3:07 PM
No, it's not just you Miranda. I, also, am getting hotter with age.
One question: Why would anyone want to be in a video for anything called "All Used Up"?!
(Props - I thought I was absolutely insane (and certainly alone in the thought) that I noticed some similarities between Murphy & Napoleon. Maybe it was the dancing vs. scarf dancing from the RoML video? Or something about the mouth..it's always the damn mouth.)
SHP - March 14, 2005 4:09 PM
He has a nice neck, too, Morrigan! ;)
Not that I notice those things . . .
Miranda - March 14, 2005 7:31 PM
I don't care what it's called! If it's a new song and a new video I'm interested!!!!!!!!!!!
Props - March 15, 2005 8:32 AM
I liked the part where Chris came out to do that "skit" after Pedro's election speech.
Classic. Why don't they get him to dance more in the Sloan videos?
Morrigan - March 15, 2005 5:47 PM
Because Chris is training to be a cage fighter, Props, and is really too busy for dancing in videos.
Hannah - March 15, 2005 8:43 PM
Well in that case, can I interest you in any boondoggle key chains?
Emmett - March 16, 2005 3:29 PM
Sorry to burst the bubble here, but it actually wasn't chris who played napolean, it was Jon Heder.
Lafawnduh - March 16, 2005 5:14 PM
No way! Really? That's so disappointing. I bought the DVD, the posters and even the talking watch that says "idiot". I really thought it was Chris. How can I enjoy this movie ever again?
Emmett - March 16, 2005 7:03 PM
Yea, it would have been awesome had it been chris, but nevertheless, its a still a great movie
Morrigan - March 17, 2005 4:29 PM
We were kidding, Emmett. Though I hear Chris also likes tots .
Emmett - March 18, 2005 1:14 PM
Haha ok, but has anyone had tots, i mean, really! they are one of the best foods i've ever tried!

Emmett - March 20, 2005 9:39 AM
Sweet! I'm so there, it shouldn't be too long of a drive from Hamilton
Hannah - March 20, 2005 1:38 PM
Remember the deal boys... I am owed a ticket if you get there before me! ;)
I have emailed the booking guy at the club to confirm the show and to see when he expects the tickets to go on sale. I will let you all know when I find out, okay? :)

Emmett did you go to the last Hamilton show?
Emmett - March 20, 2005 4:47 PM

Hannah - March 20, 2005 5:37 PM
Emmett, I'm up in the Muskokas, so not too far from the Big City of Barrie!
I was at the Hamilton show as well.
I'll be the giddy/annoying red-head off to the right ;)
P4P, and I will have both sides of the crowd covered, just like last time.
Ryan P - March 20, 2005 11:14 PM
So is that Barrie date the real deal? I'd love to go, but the fact that it has yet to be officially posted on this website kind of makes me suspicious
Hannah - March 20, 2005 11:50 PM
Ryan, there are always a few shows that don't get posted on this site, so I wouldn't ignore the info. But, it isn't certain until the tickets actually go on sale. Just keep checking here, and when I find out (I am on a hunt) I will come post the info I know. :)
Hannah - March 24, 2005 7:32 PM
I heard All Used Up today for the first time!! It caught me completely off-guard.
Good solid rocker Paddy!
Hope you all get to have a listen soon!
Lydia - March 25, 2005 5:12 PM
Rink Rock (De La Salle Arena, March 24th, 2005)
I've posted some of the pictures from Sloan's performance, if anyone would like to see them ( Sloan performing, and me harrassing them after the show)
http://photobucket.com/albums/y96/LydiaB/
You guys sounded great!! It was cool to hear so many songs from Smeared and Navy Blues (even if the were only about two seconds long) because I'd never heard most of them live before. Hey, two seconds is better than none!!
And thanks for being so nice after the show!!
Miss Allegra, smashing job on bass.
Can't wait to see you boys play again!!
Allegra - March 26, 2005 1:52 PM
I had SO much fun at the EXCLAIM! performance.
Thanks Sloan, for helping me live out a dream and for giving me memories I'll never forget (even though Chris might).
Thanks Lydia! I only wish I'd gotten more than two notes right. Embarrassing? Yes!

Lydia - March 27, 2005 2:04 PM
Oh, I forgot to mention -
Jay, you look great!! Flash that awesome smile!!
chris - March 27, 2005 3:58 PM
Anyone know when this video will make its way to much music? I doubt it'll be played at all on the radio here in St. John's, they only play the softer Sloan singles.
Marc - March 28, 2005 3:05 PM
This Barrie show... Is it all ages??? I've been informed that the foundation is usually 19+... being 18.. THAT BLOWS!! If anybody knows, I'd be happy to know :) .
Ryan P - March 29, 2005 3:30 PM
Well, Wintergreen was right and I was wrong. I apologize for my skepticism. I'll try my best to make my way to the Barrie show, but I heard a rumor that you were playing in Waterloo on April 20th? If so, I'll more than likely end up going to that one instead. But you know, Guelph is only a 20 minute drive away from Waterloo; so if you happen to have a couple days off and need another venue that's convieniently close to both Waterloo AND your homes in Toronto, there's always Club Denim and a couple other playable venues you could grace your prescence with here in Guelph ;)
Ryan P - March 29, 2005 3:32 PM
Sorry, I meant grace WITH your prescence!
kenny p. - March 29, 2005 8:14 PM
you guys were talking about the new video, right?
you guys are retarded!!
Lydia - March 30, 2005 8:42 AM
I heard "All Used Up" today!!
After torturing myself by listening to the radio for about an hour (ah, the things I do for Sloan) I heard it!! I love it!! It's going to be great at concerts.
scott - March 30, 2005 11:34 PM
what about chris and bill gates, thats who i think of when i see either of the two, the opposite that is.
