For the geographically challenged, Stratford is between London and Kitchener, just a couple of hours from Toronto. Tickets are still available, but going fast! www.standingovation.ca
We have also added a couple of shows later in the month. We finally get to return to Moncton on the 20th. Aside from an impromptu performance by "The Navy Blues Band" Monctonites have had to travel to see Sloan for several years. We are happy to be coming back.
A show at University of Guelph's Peter Clark Hall has also been added on the 27th. Sloan were once vilified for trashing the dressing room at this venue. Let's see what happens this time when we face off against our Montreal friends The Stills.
There are still some cities that we are working on adding to our tour schedule for this year. Glaringly obvious are Toronto, Montreal, and Los Angeles. But we are also looking into some other possibilities both close to home and internationally. Hope to see you at a show soon!

come to hamilton!!!
Ruh - September 4, 2005 2:00 PM
Trashing the dressing room, eh? Can't take you anywhere. :)
If your usual university tour brings you close to Alberta, I don't think any of us would mind a show in Calgary. Much disappointment when the boys played at the Whiskey and we weren't allowed in due to age restrictions. Come on, I have yet to see Sloan in concert!
See if you can rock harder than the Rolling Stones in Moncton. Lucky New Brunswickers!

Man! great stuff at Arts, Beats, and Eats. The show was great and after I met Chis, Jay, and Pat, but no Andrew. They all signed my racket ball and Chis drew a world map on it. Good Times.

"We are also looking into some other possibilities both close to home and internationally."
I hope you're coming to England :)
Nikki - September 7, 2005 3:47 PM
My sentiments exactly, Clark!
Sloan: I hope you're planning an England gig or two! It's been far too long. We need you Sloan!
Ryan - September 7, 2005 7:58 PM
You gotta play London, Ontario sometime soon... and preferably in a club like the Drink or UWO's the Wav... see you in Stratford where I hope you will be headlining, or at least getting more time and a better slot than Finger 11... no offense, but Sloan is definately superior in every aspect of rock music than those guys, and they keep playing after you... tell your label that everyone is sick of F11 and that they really want to see you guys bring down the house (or the court like at the Tennis Show)!
Perhaps its time for another Live Record, a la Palais Royale... seven years is to long to wait to hear more of the best in music
Scott - September 8, 2005 9:27 PM
Come back to Ohio!!!! Soon!!!!!!
Deanne - September 9, 2005 1:23 PM
Hey,
Well yeah, it's been a really busy summer, a little too busy in fact. I never did get a chance to write a review for the Sloan/Foo show, for the record it rocked ,but my usual complaint;too short, still applies. But whatever about that, it seems like a lifetime ago already, which is probably how long it'll be until Sloan comes back to Alberta. I mean since they've already been a couple of times this year.
I saw the funniest article recently in some rock rag about this chick who is so in love with Jay she had written several songs about him, enough in fact to compile an album called "Songs In the Key of Jay". God that struck me as hilariously funny and incredibly ambitious, I'm impressed and yeah Mary, I'm sure that'll get his attention. One time I wrote a song, well just lyrics, about my taking too many pictures of Patrick the first time I saw Sloan, at the time I thought that was over the top. I'd write a song about the guy I saw at the Sloan show at the Starlite Room earlier in the year, he was wearing a silver jacket with a Sloan crest on it, he had glasses on too, I think. That guy looked worthy of a song or two. I wonder what Mary Ferguson would think about that.
Rock and Roll Regards.... Deanne
Beth - September 9, 2005 1:57 PM
Deanne, that' Mary Cobham of the Maughams (Halifax). You can listen to some of it HERE. It's intentionally sappy & teenybop-cute.
My own LP, Muzak in a Murphy Mood, was unfortunately axed by censors & shelved.
Alison - September 9, 2005 5:31 PM
I'm so glad you've gotten over the whole "vilified" thing. The fact that you play U of Guelph for the five previous years before I got there was the whole freaking reason I applied. Well, not really, but it was a very major pro on the list. Stoked you're coming, can't wait.
Richard - September 9, 2005 7:30 PM
Is it ok to talk about the U of T show now? (it was a good one)...
Matt - September 9, 2005 10:43 PM
the U of T show was amazing
thanks for playing, guys
First Year UofT Student - September 9, 2005 11:22 PM
Yeah! It was an awesome show! Thanks for playing for us! The show was incredible and VERY enjoyable, and you guys were so nice to come back on stage even after the "last" song - MUCH appreciated! You guys rock! =)
Pink It Up & Dial It - September 9, 2005 11:27 PM
Can I have my pink shorts back Chris?
ss - September 10, 2005 3:21 AM
wooHOOO thanks for coming out to UofT! it was fantastic!
Mike Nelson - September 10, 2005 9:27 AM
I added the U of T show to the tour history. Please add some reviews and photos. Sorry that we had to keep it under wraps.
Irene - September 10, 2005 12:53 PM
Hey guys,
I was never really a hardcore Sloan fan, but after hearing you guys perform live you got me! Thanks for the concert at UofT! You guys rocked! I'll never look at concerts the same again! MWAH!
By the way: you should've worn that visor with the pink shorts Chris. Haha
Lothriel - September 11, 2005 11:27 AM
Yes! I just wanted to add my little two-bits about the U of T show as well. I'd actually never heard of Sloan or any of their music, but let's jsut say, I've got their new album strapped to my ears via mp3 player ever as I write this. You guys were awesome! I appologize on behalf of my fellow Frosh for the balloon-like items that found their way up on the stage (it wasn't me, though! I swear to God!) and those pink shorts were totally a highlight. I just wish I had got my big ugly orange Frosh shirt signed by Patrick at the end, but I was too shy. (teehee) Thanks again. You have another recruit!
MJ - September 11, 2005 7:08 PM
A friend of mine was fortunate enough to see you guys at the UofT show. I'm super jealous of her, as even though you've been my favourite band since Twice Removed, I have never been able to catch you in concert (sadly I wasn't of drinking age when you used to frequent St. John's in the 90s and couldn't get in!). Therefore, I would love it if you guys would come back to Newfoundland in the not-so-distant future!
MackenzieG - September 12, 2005 4:55 PM
You guys have to make a stop in London, Ontario. I saw Sloan at Edgefest 2003 and haven't been able to see them rock it live since, despite going to great lengths. London is a great city, and we would love to have you!!!!!!!!
Nikki - September 12, 2005 5:03 PM
Hey Sloan. London, ON may be good, but it's not a patch on London, UK!!! I really think you should come here instead :-p
xxx
Nikki - September 12, 2005 5:13 PM
And even more reason for you to come to fine England's shores is because I would get to see THIS http://yupislyr.com/sloan/index.php?showtopic=2902 in the flesh! Pure selfishness, I realise but yet oooh soo good!
Kyle - September 12, 2005 6:46 PM
PLEAS! Come to CALGARY AB! The U of C has many fans :D
Andrew - September 12, 2005 11:04 PM

TOLEDO!!!
toffee colored sharpie - September 13, 2005 6:10 PM
So yeah...you guys were heroes of mine before I'd ever seen you. But I am SO glad they weren't checking ID at U of T, because that was the BEST FRIGGIN SHOW EVAR!!!, and my love of the Sloan has intensified to a whole new mad level. I've done nothing but listen to Navy Blues, One Chord and Twice Removed since Friday night.
Thanks for signing my Navy Blues, fellas, and if you ever need anyone to dive in front of a bus for you, I'm your girl.
Now COME BACK TO TORONTO.
Suzytwoshoes - September 13, 2005 6:47 PM

Thanks for coming to Moncton on the 20th guys! I had such a great time even though my ears are still ringing and my chucks are soaked from running in the rain. Thanks for coming out on your b-day Patrick! (I would have kissed you like your pin said, but I couldn't get close enough to the stage) I'd like to give a special shout out to Jay. Do you usually pick out someone in the crowd to smile at during a concert? Anyway, you rocked my wet socks! Come back soon please!
