If you’re in London on January 31 you should come to the Underworld in Camden and check us out. Tickets are on sale now, and you can check it out at http://www.theunderworldcamden.co.uk/
This will be the third time we’ve played the Underworld, and the first time in five years that we’ve been back to the UK. See us now, or you’ll have to wait until 2011.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
Mike Nelson, you are a GOD for sorting this out.
Guess what? I booked my tickets and my hotel room already! I can't wait til I receive my tickets and I absolutely just CANNOT WAIT to catch Sloan at the Underworld. I haven't been able to concentrate on my work at all today. Too busy bounding around the office like an over excited puppy. Can't keep the grin off my face. Couldn't work. Lost my appetite. Feel all nervous and excited and have butterflies already. YOU GUYS ROCK BIGTIME! No amount of babbling writing can express my gratitude and most of all my excitement about this. I will check in to my hotel on the afternoon of the 31st and will be at the doors at 7 sharp with bells on!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
See you in London, yeah!
Until then, have a great one in Boston and Spain, and have a safe journey and all that jazz!
Lots of love.

Can't believe I've tickets for Butch Walker on the same night yards away . aaaaaaarrrrrrrggh!
But can't rely on waiting until 2011 to see the boys again so guess which show I'm going to see ?
For those lucky enough to be at the last show at the Highbury Garage it was superb and is there any chance of a repeat performance of the secret club night the day after ????
it was the best concert i have ever been to, was like the size of my bedroom and was hanging from the rafters

Is this the only date Sloan will be playing in London? Could there be others or even just one anounced closer to the time? Theres got to be some others rite? Come on! Its a long way to come just to play one gig even if you are just dropping by on the way back from Spain.
What do ya say guys huh? come on!!
Nikki - January 7, 2006 4:15 PM
Matture Cheddar, are you coming to this gig? I know it's only the one gig, but it's better than no gig at all. I'm so stoked. Try to make it!
Mike Nelson - January 8, 2006 12:52 AM
In the spirit of giving credit where due, I would like to pass any praise along to my colleague Christine Biller who has been on Sloan's management team working on international projects over the past couple of years.
<p>
Yay Biller!
Nikki - January 8, 2006 12:54 PM
Yay for Christine too! I know you sent me a message at the tail-end of last year saying you'd do what you could to get Sloan over the Europe. You're my new hero too!
Christine Biller - January 8, 2006 1:27 PM
Thanks Mike, thanks Nikki. I wish it were more than one gig. But hopefully we will be back before another 5 years goes by... working on it! It's going to be a fun night, can't wait.

Aaaaa now we get it. The last summer, a little birdie (her name was Christine) signed our guest book. She told us about Japanese release "A sides win". It came true last fall with new bonus tracks. We were deeply grateful to her.
4 years went by. If possible, avoid summer (too hot and humid)... come back to Japan, SLOAN + ms CMB. (I had fun flying to Tokyo for SLOAN Japan tour 2002 :)
Rick - January 9, 2006 10:33 PM
Did you guys get banned from the UK ? j/k I hope the tour is a great success.
MD - January 10, 2006 10:54 AM
Being from Halifax, Nova Scotia and recently moved to England, this is a big deal for me because it will be like one big ass kitchen party like back home!! And there's 6 of us going and 5 of us are canadian!!! You kick serious ass sloan, can't wait for the show...
Julie - January 12, 2006 11:18 AM
Can someone please explain the five years thing? I mean why wait so long if so many people want to see them play? I just don't get it.
matture cheddar - January 12, 2006 12:48 PM
Yeah!...Yeah Sloan why??! I wanna know too!! Why the heck 5 years? Julie and I want to know, no wait, we demand to know! Well I do anyway. 5 years is waaay too long. Heck, I could fill half a gig with people I know that would want to go........sigh.
picode - January 15, 2006 2:52 PM
Next time Sloan goes to the UK, they ought to play Portsmouth, Hampshire. Seriously.
Mikey - January 18, 2006 10:10 AM
I'm currently in London working a contract for 6 months. I've made the best of my time here by going to some concerts (most notably Elbow, New Pornographers and Franz Ferdinand).
So when I heard that Sloan was coming to town, I bought my tickets immediately!!! I have seen Sloan 3 or 4 times back in Victoria BC and I have loved every show!
Can't wait to see some of that good ol' fashion Canadian "Rock your Socks Off" energy that Sloan always has!
Wicked.
zallaz - January 20, 2006 12:20 PM
Sloan Camden gig cant wait!! Got my tickets, lets rawwwkkkk!!!
Stuart - January 21, 2006 3:06 PM
I got my ticket for the Camden show this week and the excitement I'm feeling for this show is unbelievable! I've never seen Sloan before but have been a fan ever since I picked up the I Am The Cancer single for 10p in a closing down sale way back in '94. Be great if they were doing a show in my hometown of Wolverhampton but frankly, I don't care. This is going to be great!!
Nikki - January 21, 2006 3:32 PM
My precious tickets arrived a week or two back. I'm guarding them with my life!
See you in Camden guys!
Peter - January 23, 2006 9:27 AM
There simply will be no better show! I rounded up a bunch of Canadians living in England and we are heading out on the 31st to make it a night to remember. What luck that I get to see Sloan in London! I've seen the boys play their hearts out in Saskatchewan a few times. Now the big show awaits. I can't wait for the passion and energy you put behind each show. We'll all be there. (Kate, you should come too!)
Rock'n'Roll!!!
Mark - January 23, 2006 1:10 PM
This is crazy!
I was on stargreen.com just moseying around, just casually having a look who's playing where around london lately, not expecting anything great, and all of a sudden I see - SLOAN! UNDERWORLD! NEXT WEEK! Holy shit!
I can't believe it, Camden is only a few minutes down the road from where I live. I'm gonna bike there! So so excellent. I can't wait. Being raised in Canada I always had the classic Sloan hits ringing in my ears from MuchMusic and the radio as a kid, but I finally picked up A-Sides Win while in Ottawa over the summer and have been hooked ever since...
Any other lone-sloan fans looking to hang out at the show? I'm pretty sure I won't be able to get any of my friends to come along, they don't know who the hell Sloan are. But any damn way it goes, it's gonna rock.
It's hilarious to think that Sloan play at massive arenas in Canada, and then they come here a play a tiny club like the Underworld. Hard to believe. Easy to get ridiculously excited about...
SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-----OOOOOOAAAN!!!!
PS. Anyone know who might be supporting?
Nikki - January 24, 2006 3:55 AM
I'm so glad to see such a positive response to this gig. I reckon it's going to be a sell out. I'm counting the days now!
Mark, I'm not a lone Sloaner as such, my other half will be joining me in Camden late afternoon, but you're welcome to join us if you're all alone! He's not really into Sloan but is coming nonetheless. I'll be in Camden by the afternoon on Tuesday to have some lunch and a beer or two in a pub somewhere (maybe the Oxford Arms). Be good to meet some fellow Sloan fans!
MD - January 25, 2006 9:07 AM
Something tells me that this gig is gonna be all canadians, which is fucking awesome, sorry for the swearing, thats what happens when your from the east coast....Less than a week to go people...Is anyone else pumped up besides me???
Ashleigh - January 26, 2006 3:58 PM
Yeah, so I'm Canadian gal living in Scotland...and totally wanted to see a Canadian band play in the UK while I was here. So you can imagine how excited I was when I discovered Sloan was coming! I'm a huge fan and and wouldn't mind a little Canadian rush, friends back home in Toronto are completely jealous!!. I'm really looking forward to this...can't wait!!!!
Nikki - January 26, 2006 4:25 PM
Noooo, not ALL Canadians! (As lovely as you all are!). I'm an English chick, bringing my English beau and my English friend, oh and an Aussie chick too! Not long to go now guys! I'm sooooo excited! :-)
CMB - January 27, 2006 2:04 PM
For those of you going to the London show....
Doors at 7:30 (you can have drinks at the upstairs bar before, I think it's called The World's End)
Stage Time: 8:30
Curfew: 11:00
Andrew and Jay will DJ before the band take the stage, or at the very least have a selection of personally chosen tunes for your ears. Sloan will play an extended set for this special show. It will be "An Evening with Sloan".
See you there...
Christine
Lothriel - January 28, 2006 11:00 AM
Waaaa! I'm sooooo jealous!
Who could ask for a more awesome evening than "An Evening with Sloan"? Hope everyone has a blast, as I'm sure you will. (Meanwhile, us Torontonians will sit back here and sulk a little longer. Heehee.) Have a great time, everyone, and please let us all know how it went!
Happy Sloanage!
PS: Just a little anecdote. I was in the Eatons Centre yesterday in the washrooms, and just so happened to notice the name of the company of the "utilities" in the stalls...5 very familiar little letters all in a row. Haahaa. The font was almost the same, too. I don't think I've laughed that hard in months. (Everyone around me thought I was crackers, I'm sure.) With my luck, I'm probably the last one to have noticed this, but it was still funny none-the-less.
Clark - January 31, 2006 8:01 AM
I simply can't wait for the gig tonight! It's going to be brilliant - a few pints in the Mixer beforehand and then some top notch rock action - you really can't beat it! Ace!
:)
Anthony - January 31, 2006 7:41 PM
Should have played Ireland. grrrrr.
MD - January 31, 2006 8:17 PM
As usual, Sloan kicked ass in England....But one downfall, I'm from halifax, Yes, I was the individual shouting out dartmouth and halifax chants, where the band is obvisouly from, but for some reason they got really upset at that, i know, you probably dont want to hear it repeated over and over, but if i came overseas to play a gig where not many people know who you are, i'd be proud of where im from, especially the east coast of canada....I almost want to call you sell-outs but i can't bring myself to do it, i just think that the lead guitarist, not chris, is a total ass myself, but thats my opinion...i'm sorry, but on this website, you guys claim you'll always call halifax home, pfft...whatever...stick to your roots fellas!!
