Views from the Studio
We'll add some more images and video as we move along in the recording process, but I figured that I would post these four that were taken with Patrick's camera a few nights ago. Through the darkness, you can make out the band sitting on or near their instruments in our studio.
There was a video test here that I have removed. Will repost later once I solve some server issues.

Hey guys, these are some sweet pics, I'm pumped for the new album! But your video clip doesn't work, at least not on my comp. Looking forward to seeing you this summer out in Vancouver! Keep on rockin' in the free world!!!

the video is kind of slow.
i would say it took longer than 10-15 minutes to load.
pretty funny though.
Looking forward to a new album and tour!

The video was very slow to load. Regardless, the Sloan studio looks like a fun place to be! Can't wait to hear the results!
Lisa (Halifax, NS) - March 14, 2006 2:51 PM
Much too slow on work comp but I will definitely take the time to download when I get home. And pretty pictures too!

How exciting to see those photos!
(the video was very slow to download.., but thanks:)

Nice photos, but might I suggest a different photographer? (you can't see me now, but I am winking.)
Video doesn't load, sorry.
(P.S. Mr. Scott, I believe I nearly ran you down with my car last Friday night while you were loading a van. The possibility of being at fault for the end of Sloan as we know it put the fear of god in me, so drove more piously for the remainder of the evening. So I apologize about that.)

I'm going to talk to our internet folks to see if there are any options available to speed up the video download speed. Thanks for your feedback!

A few unanswered questions:
Where are you recording the album? Who's producing it? How many songs are in the works? How long have you been at it?
ChalkCircleChamp - March 15, 2006 12:27 AM
I like the ambiance to your studio. Do you shop at Ikea?
Thanks for the updates, we appreciate hearing how things are going with the recording.

Will the new album feature any "Andrew songs" ?
Rick - March 15, 2006 8:47 PM
The video doesn't seem to wanna work for me.

Ha HA Beth!
Close call!
Dante - March 16, 2006 3:16 AM
Cool pics, but we can barely see the boys! What if Chris is rockin' a 'stache again? Can't see! Please, no more "dinner by candle light" pics.
Or wait--maybe the ambience will yield a more stripped-down album? A Sloan ballad album?
Mike Nelson - March 16, 2006 11:32 AM
I've taken down the video for now as it was really really slow-loading. I'll post it again once we have a better server set-up.
We'll have more photos soon.

Lookin' good, Mr Ferguson! Hello to Mike too. Thanks for the updates on everything so far. Excited about the new record - I'm interested to see which direction this will see the band taking. Personally I'm hoping for Alberta. ;)
In all seriousness ... keep up the sweet work!

Dear Sirs,
I am sending this application for a license to drive a front end loader. I was told by the Labour Council of Canso that this was the proper address. Do you have any information on how long this process will take? I am in the process of purchasing a Katama 4500ST front-end loader with remote welding attachment. I was told I needed a SLOAN 45TA application form. With the spring upon us I would like to expedite this process and would appreciate any assistance you may be able to afford me.

Also, I am really looking forward to the new Sloan record!

Hey, those letters on the wall that say Sloan are from "the People of the Sky" video! What a cool souvenir! (Wow, I'm a real nerd to know that). Anyways, I'm REALLY looking forward to the new album - haven't heard from my good ol' homies Sloan for a while!

Anyone else notice that in the pics the "S" in Sloan is a little crooked compared to the other letters? And yes, I have way too much time on my hands.
