Oh my word, new Sloan today!!! It's like Christmas came 3 months early this year!!!!
These videos have been like opening the window of an Advent calendar each day for the chocolates.I am counting my lucky stars I get to see a show on this tour, it looks like this tour will be unforgettable!Play all 30 songs every show!Congrats on release day!
Great post. I had always wondered how the whole learning each others songs process went.I'm hoping I'll be able to get the record today.
WOW, the 32 tracks purchased from iTunes are simply amazing <3
Bought the rekkid on the way to work today...I LOVE IT!!!!
It's great how the songs all connect, I'll be listening to it all day!
I just bought a ticket for the Fredericton show. Can't wait to see you guys! Love the little movies they are great fun to watch.
Glad you are coming back to Fredericton, hope it's better for you than last time.
Just bought the album from Itunes. Only downfall, no album artwork..... :(
The parallels between Never Hear The End Of It and The Beatles' White Album are uncanny.- Each has 30 tracks- Each has songs by all four band members- Each is the respective groups 9th album- Both albums were released in the fall
Creepy re: the White Album thing.. very strange. I wonder if their hair styles ever matched. We should check that out.
Good luck at the release gig tonight - you'll wow 'em I'm sure. You boys have worked hard and we fans love you for it.
I'm waiting .. *tap tap* for my mail with my CD in it .. that's the one downfall to pre-ordering. I personally think you should get the record FIRST.. :P
I made stew and sang All used up...I will go to HMV and purchase the new album today...I am waiting in anticipation...but I want to prolong it a bit so I can be really excited all day then crank it up!!!
What I get out of this video is that most of what is recorded isn't done together. I wonder how the group feels about doing so much seperately & how much input each has in the others' songs.
Will buy the new album this evening. I've had my tickets for the Fredericton show since the day they went on sale. This will be the first time I've seen the guys live, so I'm really looking forward to it.
I picked the new album up at HMV today. They actually hadn't even put it on the stands because I got there just as they were opening.Ya I preordered A Side Wins and it sucked that I had to wait 2-3 days before I even got it which is why I didn't bother this time around. It killed me last time to wait and that was only for 2 new songs let alone the 30 on this album.
-AlexP.S.Favourite new tune is probably "Fading Into Obscurity" or maybe "Ill Placed Trust" since I've listened to that catchy that little riff at the beginning of each videoclip. :)Good Job boys.
Oh man, SLOOOOOOOAAAN!i couldn't wait to go buy the new cd, i'm only half way through and i'm totally excited to hear the second half. This was definately an early birthday present for me, lucky me, and for everyone else who manage to get today too!Go Sloan, keep making that music that we all know and love.
I'm REALLY jealous of you Canadians. We have to wait another week here in the states for the cd. Woe is me! Can't wait to hear it. Congrats to you guys.
Oh happy day!
Got my CD and have been listening to it all afternoon during as I worked.I love the way one songs just falls into the next one, give the album a great flow. Reminds me of early Who albums!Very surprised at how short some songs are but usually the length is appropriate for the song. It sure will make for a nice long, varied set list for the upcoming shows (one hopes!)Love 'Ill Placed Trust' (I agree with Alex, having the intro of each video start with that riff got me prepped to like the song!)See you in Montreal!
I've been listening to Never Hear The End Of It all afternoon and I love it.The one track that really stuck in my head so far was "I've gotta try."
Very well done boys. When I heard it was 30 tracks I was expecting maybe a double record or one of those failed attampts at a concept album.
I am plesantly surprised to find I was wrong. A straight forward pop album full of hooks.
by the way....I wonder if the boys have been paying attention to Guided by Voices....Bob Pollar is famous for having normal length records with 30 + songs.....all running at 1 minute each...
Bought the album, it rules, now sell me an EP with the two songs "available only through iTunes"... Even more looking forward to the live gig!
Oh, and Set in Motion for next single! (Can't You Figure It Out as alternate choice)KGB
SLOAN! SLOAN! I got the album and mere hours later SAW YOU LIVE FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER.It was MIND BLOWING.so thanks. for a wicked show.
