Hey, I'm super excited for tomorrow but just wondering if Sloan is going to honour International Talk Like a Pirate Day other than with the release of their album?

Yar, they will...Thy first 300 copies of the CD will be titled "Never Hear The End Of It, Matey!" And it will include a Sloan eye patch. How's that for a collector's item!

Mike,
Do you know if they are showing the ACL DVD that only has "I am the Cancer" or is it more of the performance from that day?
Just need to know if I have to hijack a relative's Cox Cable for the day ;)
Thanks,
Leah in AZ

Leah, I just checked it out, and all I saw was "I Am The Cancer", only one song. And frankly disappointing, as I can't imagine that they'd use that performance as Sloan's only song. I mean, I know the song and all, but to a crowd who had never heard Sloan, hardly a riveting performance.
But I will also say that between Broken Social Scene and Calexico, there was only that one song, and I turned off the show. Maybe there was more later, but I doubt it. Still, it was amazing to see Sloan on TV down here!
I wonder what Sloan did play at that concert.

I rented that DVD not that long ago, and was not only surprised to see Sloan on it, but to see myself in the front couple rows during the Sloan performance! (I've got a khaki cap and a beard, if you're in the mood to try to hunt me down) I am really bummed at the songs that they chose to put on that DVD...it seems like they picked some of the worst performances (not necessarily worst, but slowest/most subdued) from a lot of the bands for the DVD. Kind of a bummer.
