"Our next album will be influenced by solo Mama Cass."
Can we hold you to that? ;)

The audio isn't great (Patrick sounds bad!) but the interview is fun. I have one pack of those cards and I want more! Chris, why don't you make them available on Maple Music, since you must still have a bunch of them left. I think you'll get quite a few sales. Then the money'll start rolling in... :)

just today, my friend nearly got run over by mini-me. I'm serious. he was zooming out of the lcbo on a scooter and he nearly took her out. he's tiny. like 6 months baby tiny.
anyways, cool interview. I kinda wish there were trading cards around. maybe I'll have to supernerd it up and make my own!

Very funny stuff...now why is that only you (Chris) and Jay do all the interviews??? Is it just to hang out the the attractive host or what?
Bob - August 19, 2007 4:15 PM
Yeah, that host had a great rack....oh, and Chris and Jay were great as usual...and Patrick has great hair

Are those trading cards the little stickers they were giving out at sarnia bayfest a few years ago, where they had action poses from (i think) the cover of between the bridges??? Tell Chris to stop hording them and offer them up on this site...
BTW, what was Mini-me doing in Ontario?
Ruh - August 20, 2007 12:36 PM
The stickers are from Pretty Together, if I'm thinking of the right ones. There were actual full sets of trading cards made a few years ago though too, more than the four from BTB. (And if you want to sell them, bring enough of them to shows! It seemed like a lot of people tried to get them in Detroit but there weren't any hahaha.)
laura - August 20, 2007 11:41 PM
yeah I have no idea what mini-me was doing in ontario. it was a sight to behold though...all the homeless people sitting outside the lc were really intrigued by this little person on a scooter with bags of alcohol lol
laura - August 23, 2007 10:01 PM
"he's had a couple of booze"....?
I dunno, I can't tell what chris is saying either lol

"Mini Me" was likely in town for the giant Sci-Fi expo in Toronto last weekend. He attended last year's, as I was there. For my birthday. Forcibly.

Why doesn't SOMEONE see the obvious and give Sloan their own tv show? They're all likeable, smart guys, quick on their feet, photogenic, musically sublime and perfect for both hosting and interviewing new indie bands (from Canada and the UK... well, ok, maybe the States as well) and playing a song or two a show. They'd be a breath of fresh air to a stale music scene. Sure they are well known to their fans but they are not nearly familiar enough to the mainstream public--which could work to their favour. Sort of like the Barenaked Ladies (who hosted a Christmas special) but with better music, y'know? Can anyone imagine how a "Variety Show" would take off today, after all this reality tv bullsh*t? Imagine some of their fun video clips, and their hilarious Hallowe'en show on Mike Bullard? Throw in a few songs by some new or indie groups and these guys would be dynamite tv!!
Oh, yeah, count me in on those trading cards. Where can we get some?
Danny - September 6, 2007 3:52 AM
Can we at least agree on one thing? Morrissey is the undeniable Kubrick of songwriting? Bob Mould is the lead singer of Huske Du.

morrissey IS pretty solid. I'll agree with you on that one.
CajMe - September 10, 2007 9:35 PM
He's more than solid...he's turgid.
Danny - September 10, 2007 10:12 PM
lol!
laura - September 13, 2007 7:24 PM
omg I've created such a monster! I rue the day I introduced turgidity to you people lol!!
Danny - September 15, 2007 1:20 AM
Lucky you!

I had all the Sloan trading cards, but I sold the whole set on ebay for like . . . $3.50 (tree-fiddy). ;D Just kidding! I still have them, and cherish them (I wash them with warm, soapy water every day. ;D).
Chris . . . dude. Seriously. Mama Cass/Mini Me trading cards. That's got "hit" written all over it! ;D
