saw this on youtube the other day! made my boring grown-up self wish i was right there screamin' along with 'em! love the 'sirens' in the beginning! anyone know how old this clip is?
this is the wonderful work of I, at my camp this past year...pretty much its a long story but each year my wonderfuly jewish camp just outside of Red Deer Alberta is split in half each session and we compete against eachother in compations of sport and other things (including song!) one catagory is unoriginal song where each team sings a (usually) popular song with lots o energy and all that jazz. wellll my buddy Dan Busheikin who is wihtout a doubt the biggest sloan fan (yes even more so then the likes of ruhee and her "crew") wanted to go out with a bang and since he would do anything for sloan...yes ANYTHING he made the executive decision to play money city...the other team played some song called I'm a Roadhammer by The Roadhammer and we can all agree that did not go well...moral of the story is if you like sloan enough you can accomplish anything...also the other guy playing guitar (in the sharks jersey) is a regular at the last few sloan concerts in toronto with I, we are the ones near the front yelling out things like "PLAY CHRISTINE SIXTEEN" and "STRUTTER" and we know how much everyone appreciates it... other then that dan is going to be angry with me when he finds out i posted this mostly cause he (the other one playing guitar) is very embarrsed by it as he believes that it was a poor performance and did not do the song justice
Yes this song was chosen by myself, Dan Busheikin (as Howard mentioned the biggest sloan fan in the world), our friend Joey and Alexa to be played and sung by a hundred screaming kids for an event at the camp. It was awesome to say the least except that these kids can't fucking sing. Also to correct Howard the other song was some Paul Simon song....come on Howard I'm a Roadhammer was 2nd session get with it! But yeah hope you enjoy it because we did except that the kids can't sing but whatever it is SWEEEEET.
Who is the Ruh crew?! I feel so ... represented! Hey, Dan, I can't believe we never connected about this before (we went to high school together, everybody), but I think we need to figure out which one of us could trump the other in fandom for reals.
I am so amazed that this didn't turn into a flame war. Even though I am certain that that is what Howard (is it Queen Howard from the board?) set out to do.
Geez nice work Howard and Co. on that, being a youth worker myself I can fully appreciate the amount of work that must have gone into that. I laughed and cheered the whole way it was great and very refreshing; seems I'm more likely to be hearing some gangsta rap when I'm working. Very cool. Deanne In a completely unrelated item I wish Jay would go and do another radio show at some point,I miss it. D.

This video is living proof that when you don't know the lyrics, the beat or the tune - doing a manic pogo dance is always the right choice.

Is it too late to flame this thread?
