Hopefully you'll do 2 nites at the Bowery as usual :) Plus that way, I won't have to miss my sister's college graduation or my mother's 50th Birthday party with a backup show lol.
I've waited for this day for so long. I didn't think a video would surface, but there you have it. and a very witty title to accompany! thanks to whoever recorded that, made my sunday night!
Great show in Detroit! Chris, I hope your throat's feeling better. I've seen you guys somewhere near 20 times. First time was either '92 or '93 in Pontiac. I love the new album... it's my favorite since One Chord. I'm glad you played "Fading into Obscurity", I'm just crazy about that one! Take care and come back soon. Lisa in Royal Oak
I am saddened that I wasn't informed of this secret aftershow with David Cross...especially since I love him. Oh well...maybe next time I'm in NYC...which will ikely be never.
Thanks very much to Sarah for taping and sharing this bit o' Sloan history.
Nikki, if you are out there... no need to be bummed-out, this was not from a secret Bowery after-show. It was performed at The Onion's Christmas party in Brooklyn, NY on December 16th, 2006. There's a piece on it in the news archives. We hope to get closer to your part of the world at some point later this year. Stay tuned.
CMB, since my post I was informed of the date of the David Cross clip...so I am no longer suffering from hurt feelings and low self esteem. And if by saying "my part of the world" you mean Ireland/UK....then you will make me a happy girl! It would be nice to see Sloan in my own time zone :-) Cheers!
One time I met David Cross at a Strokes show but I was running out to catch a train, and the whole thing pretty much went "David Cross? WOOOO!" and David Cross going "YAY! ME! WOOOO!!!!" haha!

This is worth the wait! The quality is amazing. The performance is just brilliant. They need to release this as a b-side or something.

Hi. Thanks for being so awesome in Detroit (and putting up with our insane cross-continental contingent). SLOOO-OOOAANN.
Also, DAVID CROSS.

The only thing that could have made this better would be if David Cross was dressed in the Mrs. Featherbottom costume.

That was great...almost enough to forgive the L.A. debacle. Maybe Sloan should cover the whole album....
Melissa - January 24, 2007 10:05 AM
David Cross and Sloan should tour together!
One time I met David Cross at a Strokes show but I was running out to catch a train, and the whole thing pretty much went "David Cross? WOOOO!" and David Cross going "YAY! ME! WOOOO!!!!"
haha!

This. is. amazing.
I am stunned by Sloan's cover of this! It is very true to life! *applause*
Cross got the handclap part wrong, though. JEEZ.

The only thing that would have made this bit better is if Chris donned his Jesus Christ Superstar shirt for the number.

Awesome, I love David Cross, I love Jesus Christ Superstar because it truly rocks. And best of all I love Sloan. You guys totally rock!
