Well, well.
I shall have to look out 'One Chord To Another' from the pile of CDs in my loft and re-appraise it now that it is number 34 in the top 100 Canadian albums. I bought it whilst at school in St. Catherines for a year - Brock U- back in '98-'99.
I remember seeing a popvid on TV of a band (the sound was turned down - somewhere public I think) and they were on a stage surrounded by what looked like Scotland flags but in 'negative' if you know what I mean.
I went to my Lonely Planet Guide to Canada to act on a hunch, and I was proved correct. The flag of Nova Scotia was the one I saw on the vid. As a Scot I thought, right, let's buy an album by that band, and let's visit NS. I did both.
One day, I shall return to NS.
Well done Sloan.

I'm happy to see three out of my four favorite Sloan albums in the top 100! My other favorite is Never Hear the End of it... maybe that'll make an appearance next time. I would really like to hear this Chris Murphy interview but couldn't find it on the cbc site. Does anyone know if it's available and, if so, where?

Ruh - October 26, 2007 1:37 PM
Hey Lisa, it was on a radio show, so I am willing to bet you won't be able to hear it online. CBC doesn't often post them.

(and the forgot to mention that "Between The Bridges" is the best album ever in the world's history of recorded music!)
All the best,

NHTEOI is my fave too, but congrats for the rewarded albums !

It's a shame the 'later period' sloan albums are always ignored in these type of polls. Navy Blues, BTB, Pretty Together, NHTEOI are all solid rock albums, top to bottom, canadian or not, though maybe better appreciated fully within time.
