The EP cover & booklet were created from one of a kind hand-screened shirts designed by Sloan. We will be giving away the original t-shirts as prizes to some of our lucky fans who purchase the EP during the first week of sale. Each day we will draw one lucky winner from the day's sales to receive one of the original screen-printed shirts.
Welcome to the new Sloan music archive & store! Enjoy the EP, and we hope to see you at a concert soon.

sounds good, guys!
Scott L. - November 23, 2009 12:42 PM
Nice... but what about those of us who already own the albums, and just want to pick up the bonus tracks? Do you expect everybody to purchase all of the music again? Hope this is changed soon.
James Dress - November 23, 2009 1:34 PM
What a happy surprise! Great EP--really digging the piano and Mellotron and the entire vibe of it all. Stellar songwriting as usual--but everyone here already knows that. Kudos to you guys for offering in lossless format as well. Hope to see you in San Francisco soon. Cheers and keep making the best pop music around.
Mike Nelson - November 23, 2009 1:46 PM
Good point Scott! We were just trying to differentiate our store offerings from other online sales sites--not challenge our fans to re-buy any material.
We will come up with a plan to offer these either bundled or as standalone files. I'll keep everybody posted.
Dave D. - November 23, 2009 2:00 PM
This is a great idea, but I would also be glad to see a bundle of Japan tracks or individual files too. Any chance of including some of the other rarities as well? Many thanks in advance if you guys work something out! I'll be picking up the new EP in about 5 seconds!
Scott L. - November 23, 2009 2:10 PM
Thanks, Mike! Look forward to it.
EJ - November 23, 2009 2:17 PM
Love the new EP and the full streaming in the store. Very cool! Agree with Scott L on the bonus track issue. Thanks for looking into it, Mike. Much appreciated!

No CD = Lost Sales
Too bad.
Beck - November 23, 2009 3:17 PM
Are there any plans at all to release this in a physical format? I'm kind of averse to purchasing digital files...
Mariko - November 23, 2009 6:28 PM
I love all the songs, but especially Jay's :-) !
Rich - November 23, 2009 6:39 PM
I got my copy...Most fab!
kenny p. - November 23, 2009 7:58 PM
purchasing digital files is fine for people who want the latest Top 40 hits, but not for a real fan of a band who REALLY want to have something to hold. I plan to find someplace to download this for free!! If you want me to buy it, put it out on cd, or, better yet - vinyl.
Dave - November 23, 2009 9:11 PM
Thanks guys EP sounds great.
Early favourites are 'It Is Never' and 'Oh Dear Diary.'
Keep it up.
Clay K - November 23, 2009 9:24 PM
Glad to see it will be available on iTunes tomorrow. As a non-credit card on-liner, I like the iTunes card flexibility - I hope the band still gets decent royalities from that.
One thing that is missing from iTunes: Where can I download Push Pins?
James Bo - November 23, 2009 11:01 PM
SLOOOOAAAANN!!
Always great to hear new music from you, see you in Cleveland!
Chris G - November 23, 2009 11:23 PM
Absolutely fantastic. Just getting better as the years go by.
tmm909 - November 23, 2009 11:42 PM
Holy shit. These bonus tracks rule!!
Looking forward to when I can download them individually/as a bundle.
...Wishing the EP was an LP...yearning for more!
CLAY! Go here for Push Pins!http://www.sloanmusic.com/news/archive/2008/september/freedigital7

Deanne - November 24, 2009 2:43 AM
Well it's not the sanguine Sloan I've come to know & love over the years, which is not to say I don't like but it certainly is somewhat darker and more melancholy than previous Sloan music. Jay's song is as sad as "Are You Giving me Back my Love?", I can't even listen to that song. Either way I am really looking forward to seeing Sloan in Vancouver and anywhere else in my vicinity, if they happen to play another show. Safe travels, winter touring brrr, that sounds cold = I'm sending warm thoughts and good vibes. D
Jay Coyle - November 24, 2009 10:22 AM
Clay K:
Push Pins is still on the site here for you:

I am so excited to see this, I have been trying to get a hold of some of the non-domestic releases for years with no luck. Agree with the others though, I really cannot afford to re-buy all the albums again just for the two or three extra songs. I hope this can be changed.
Great to get some new songs though. Thanks.
Luke Malone - November 25, 2009 3:24 AM
Just got the EP, love it! Agree that a physical format would be good, but the digital booklet is a nice touch.
JC - November 25, 2009 1:49 PM
sweet. thanks guys. i've been listening to sloan all day every day at work. definitely looking forward to a way to purchase the bonus tracks as a bundle as i already have all these CDs...but what i WOULD love to see (and spend cash on) for sure are vinyl reissues of the out of print albums! One Chord to Another on 180g anyone?!
ClayK - November 25, 2009 8:25 PM
Thanks tmm909 and Jay Coyle - link appreciated!
The EP is great! Current fav is Oh Dear Diary
I can't get enough of Chris's mediations on the theme of written self
reflection continued from Autobiography and Set in Motion. Clever stuff.
I'm with the rest of the crowd here - I love a hardcopy format. And it would especially be great to get a proper B-sides/rarities comp on CD (my bootlegged mp3s of Same Old Flame and Summer's My Season always were a bit murky-sounding).
Make it a double CD and throw in a few of those fun covers you've done over the years: Waterfalls, In the Mood, and especially Lovin' You Ain't Easy. I'd buy it!
Can't wait to see you in Wpg on Dec 8.
Bill - November 25, 2009 8:48 PM
Love the music, I'm more than happy to send my money directly to this hardworking band. Come back to sudbury guys, 10 years between shows is way too long!!
tmm909 - November 26, 2009 12:58 AM
I also need to say that Jay is a Can-pop god. In interviews, Jay's said that Witch's Wand is the prequel to Light Years. I can't help but think that Midnight Mass is part of this story...
Rich - November 27, 2009 12:29 PM
Love the EP guys! Can't wait to see you in Chicago on December 7th. Thank you and PLEASE don't ever stop making music.
D Pretty - November 28, 2009 11:19 AM
Hey Boys, When you going to announce your December 14th date in Whistler on the site?

Hey Boys, When are you going to announce your Dec 14th date in Whistler on your site?
KashGlenBarn - December 10, 2009 8:26 PM
Hey, I think I just had a thought, listening to the stuff on the web. People are mentioning they want a physical copy of the Hit & Run EP. Others (myself included) are mentioning we want an actual rarities compilation. When I saw how some of the rarities go so well with the new EP, I thought... Why not combine both?
I think I have half the first "side" place
Take It Upon Yourself
I Thought that I Was Ready for You
Tell Me Something I Don't Know
Midnight Mass
Okay, so it's heavy on the Jay and Chris... but it works so well!
I'll post more when I've listened more...
Tell you what... I'm going to listen some more
KashGlenBarn - December 10, 2009 9:43 PM
As a previous post of mine stated, Sloan could combine both of our requests here into a "New & Viewed" rarities compilation (which now stretches almost beyond 2 CD's, if one includes all the songs on "Recorded Live at a Sloan Party!" and removes crowd-sound sections such as "Let's Get the Party Started" and the extended crowd end to "I Wouldn't Want to Lose Your Love". I've worked on the tracklist as I see it, and here it is:
(Tracks divided into groups representing theoretical album sides...)
New(er) Recordings:
Take It Upon Yourself
I Thought that I Was Ready for You
Tell Me Something I Don't Know
Midnight Mass
Even Though
Will You Ever Love Me Again?
Where Are You Now?
Oh Dear Diary
The Best Part of Your Life
Step On It, Jean
Is It Never
Had Enough
Helen
(As Helen leads well into Take It Upon Yourself, one may want to put all the rest on a "bonus" CD... or tack on the 45" versions of "Stood Up"/"Same Old Flame", the demo to "Autobiography", and all the _songs_ from the "Sloan Party!" album)
Older recordings and covers/alternate versions (on a bonus disc):
Dirty Nails
Glad to Be Here
D is for Driver
Same Old Flame (OCTA bonus track version)
Amped
One Professional Care
Coax Me (Icks Nay on the Evie Stay Micks)
Work Cut Out
Pillow Fight
Guidance Counselor
Waterfalls (Paul McCartney cover)
Rag Doll
Laying Blame
Summer's My Season
Out to Lunch
Stood Up (OCTA bonus track version)
Keep On Thinkin' (acoustic)
A Case of You (Joni Mitchell cover)
Snowsuit Sound (demo)
(What was that Rubber Duckie thing alongside Guidance Counselor?)
Are You Giving Me Back My Love (Comes with a Smile version)
At the Edge of the Scene
Gimme the Keys (Otis Haynes)
Sleepover
Living the Dream (acoustic)
Rhodes Jam (complete 10-minute version)
Of course, this removes the possibility that Sloan does a Stereolab "Fab Five Suture" and releases 3 to 4 EPs in a year, then puts them all together as an album once they have enough excellent material... Or maybe they can throw in a "Hit & Run" T-shirt and put the "Sloan Party!" and SU/SOF 45" onto another CD, and sell it all in a small box as a "Sloan Fan Club Rarities Survival Pack".
I sense Chris smirking at that last comment... I think I'm on the right track (laughs).
KashGlenBarn - December 12, 2009 1:25 PM
Argh... and of course, I missed a few (including the excellent "Push Pins", the reprise of "Believe in Me", the B-side "Autobiography" demo, and quite possibly a few more...)
Deanne - December 15, 2009 5:58 PM
Can't wait for the show tonite. Hoping Sloan will stick around to chat and don't have to catch a flight right after. Deanne

I was quite happy to see I could actually buy Hit & Run at your last show, I didn't even try to download it for free like I originally threatened, this is the best way cuz I know my $$$ is going directly to the band.
HUGE Thanks to the girl who went to look for a copy of the 4 Nights vinyl for me after I saw it wasn't at the merch table.
now how about if you release Hit & Run on 10-inch vinyl????
Happy New Year Sloan.
Christopher Thomas - January 15, 2010 12:19 AM
Are we ever going to be able to buy the songs separately? I have all the albums already. I would love to get a great sounding version of Stood Up and Same Old Flame without having to spend $10 on an album I already own 90% of the songs. Please make these available separately.
Michael - February 18, 2010 12:30 AM
As much as I love everything Sloan, I will wait until B Sides is on CD. If I have to wait forever, well, so be it.
I wonder if Jay would buy his favourite albums via download. Somehow I doubt it!
Give us a choice, eh!
Michael - February 18, 2010 12:33 AM
One more thing ... it'd be nice to get some details about all these songs and maybe a few words from the guys about 'em.
Ideally, another special double-disk with videos and interviews on Disc 2!
Sure a Fan - March 6, 2011 12:01 PM
Good news Sloan! The Hit & Run could not be found when googling for mp3s in the Internet - go to the store!
