Dec. 09 - Winnipeg - The Pyramid
Dec. 10 - Saskatoon - Louis' Pub
Dec. 11 - Calgary - SAIT
Dec. 12 - Edmonton - TBA
Dec. 15 - Vancouver - Commodore
We are still planning to add another show on either December 13th or 14th. Do you have a great venue in your neighborhood? Is your neighborhood in the heart of the Canadian Rockies in the middle of December? Are we asking for trouble?
If anybody has a line on ice time at your local rink, please let me know. A few of the guys will have their hockey gear and an afternoon skate is always a treat.

Play at WildBill's in Banff. I saw Sam Roberts and the Weakerthans there last winter. Both shows were awesome. It's a really good venue.
Chico T Sanchez - November 2, 2009 11:47 AM
Another option is the Canmore Hotel in Canmore (15 minutes from Banff). Bands like 2 Hours Traffic and Hey Rosetta! have played there recently.
Chico T Sanchez - November 2, 2009 2:15 PM
One final suggestion: the Drake Hotel in Canmore. Grant Lawrence from CBC radio 3 considers it one of the best places to see live music in Canada.
JR - November 2, 2009 2:31 PM
Woo! Calgary! Friday! Haven't missed a show in 11 years and I won't miss this one. Will you settle for mini-stick hockey in my living room?
Chris - November 2, 2009 2:57 PM
Perhaps you should just play 2 dates in Vancouver? :-) Or try to find somewhere in Victoria........
Thrilled you're making it out west!!!!!!
Maria - November 2, 2009 5:05 PM
Awesome!!
Matt Blais - November 2, 2009 5:20 PM
I recommend 'the Rose and Crown' in Banff. It's a great place to play.

Yes, the Rose and Crown in Banff is also very good!
Nikki - November 2, 2009 8:49 PM
Yay for Vancouver and the Commodore. I am willing to host a Sloan show at my apartment. But you'll be required to play on Beatles rockband.
The Dude - November 3, 2009 4:19 PM
When you are done out West, come to London, Ont and rock us like you always do.
Andy - November 3, 2009 5:48 PM
It's gotta be Regina, just down the road from Edmonton. Sloan has played The Distrikt a few times under other names: Channel 1 back in the day and The State a few years ago.
Please come back so I don't have to drive to Toon Town in a blizzard!
Joel Plaskett just played there a few months ago and the crowd was excellent.

DEFINITELY The Canmore Hotel in Canmore, Alberta. It's THE party place in the Rocky Mountains and that show would be absolutely packed. Those are your people! Grady just came through and warmed up the stage nicely for you.
I've played at Wild Bill's in Banff. Although a lovely room, it's a bit of a 'sterile' vibe. I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as Canmore. Gregory has played the Canmore Hotel before and can tell you all about it first hand. I just saw his former bandmate, Rich Hope, tear the roof off that building and it was fantastic.
Brooke Harrison - November 4, 2009 2:28 AM
You gotta come to Kamloops BC!! This is an amazing city. The Sagebrush Theater is a really nice venue. I saw The Tea Party there and was blown away by the atmosphere. There is also The ISC, nice big stadium.
Please come here!!
We love you so much!

So, when are you turning south from Vancouver and head to warmer and dryier weather? Do I need to find an available rink in San Francisco for you?

If you want to visit us here in the Fraser Valley, and are up for a larger venue, Abbotsford has a new arena. A few months back we had a blast seeing the Hip play in town... there's just something about a Canadian band playing a hockey rink :)
karl - November 5, 2009 10:38 PM
what about Los Angeles?
andrea - November 6, 2009 6:28 PM
ummmmm, i won't recommend red deer, as i didn't the only time you brought the show to this dead, one horse town... BUT if you are looking for ice time in between cowtown and deadmonton, it makes a helluva pit stop. I work with the rec, parks and culture dept and could make a little magic happen! YAY!
the only good thing about living in the shiny rhinestone buckle of the bible belt, is that it's half way in between 2 shows! huzzah, and here's to december!
dan - November 15, 2009 4:24 PM
Smithers, BC. its a bit further past the rockies, small town, good venue, random action, plus for sure a good skate can be arranged.
Chris - November 17, 2009 1:03 PM
Does anybody have any idea when the Vancouver show will go on sale? It's not listed on Ticketmaster or on LiveNation's Commodore Ballroom website. Though, I did note on the latter site that the gig previously scheduled for the 14th has been cancelled if some other band perhaps wanted to show up a day early... ;-)
Dave - November 17, 2009 4:26 PM
Come to the Knitting Factory in Spokane!
Babis - November 18, 2009 2:43 AM
You could always pop over to Nanaimo Vancouver Island. The Queens is a popular bar for concerts (I've seen Econoline Crush, and Marcy Playground there recently).
Ice time - November 18, 2009 9:46 PM
sent an e-mail to your info@sloanmusic address about ice time.
Brett Frankson - November 19, 2009 1:03 AM
omg omg omg U HAVE TO COME TO VICTORIA. contact atomique productions perhaps.... www.atomiqueproductions.com play at Sugar or Lucky
Dave - November 19, 2009 4:49 PM
Lethbridge! Not the Rockies, but it would make this poor Ontarian happy. Unless you were planning a show in Peterborough on New Years.....Havent seen you guys since Barrie last New Years.
Chris - November 20, 2009 1:14 PM
Vancouver tix are onsale now. And I second the request for Victoria!!
David - November 21, 2009 7:34 PM
You're coming to Vancouver in the heart of exam season... But I also support a Victoria stop on the tour, because I'll be there for sure!
Steve - November 22, 2009 11:59 AM
Victoria Victoria Victoria! I'm on diaper duty, can't make it to the Vancouver show...
Andy - November 23, 2009 6:37 PM
Vancouver on the night of my last final exam...which is also in the evening! Oh, cruel fate.
I suggest having several opening bands and not starting until pretty late!
Matt - November 27, 2009 11:28 AM
Hell, if your still in Calgary on the 13th you could play at my place...that's my birthday. : )
Come on...I know you wanna.
Matt - November 27, 2009 2:06 PM
...wait, I know the Zamboni driver at a community rink! Maybe I could work some magic down at the ol' community centre.
...and it's my birthday, as I mentioned before.
Marc - December 7, 2009 12:40 PM
Jasper, AB. This is a great stop on the way, I can get the ice. We have 2 suitable venues.
Lois - December 11, 2009 12:48 AM
You should play somewhere in Lake Louise (Explorer's lounge maybe). There's always icetime available on the Lake or at the rec centre. And there's at least one fan (not me) who's been to 5 or 6 Sloan shows in his lifetime.
Shaun - December 16, 2009 2:07 PM
Great show at the Commodore last night! Thanks guys!
Adam - December 19, 2009 10:30 AM
This is a little late but your show at Sait was absolutely fantastic. You guys really know how to please an audience.
Sincerely,
The dude with the moustache who was rocking out in front of Jay :)
