Sloan recently dropped by the Fearless Music studios in New York City and recorded a few songs live. The first of which will be aired this Saturday, February 24th at 1:00am EST on Fox 5 in the New York City area. If you are not in the NYC area, check out the time and channel listings on the Fearless Music website here, to find out when and where else it is aired in the USA.

If you are not in the USA, be sure to check the Fearless Music website the following week, as they will post the performance. You also will be able to vote for Sloan as your favorite band that week. Eventually the performance will be archived on the site, so you can view it whenever you want!

Sloan's "Never Hear The End Of It" won an East Coast Music Award for Rock Recording of the Year.

Chris Murphy had returned to Sloan's hometown of Halifax, Nova Scotia for the weekend and accepted the award on behalf of the band.

At first, I wondered if Yep Roc's re-airing of Sloan's 30-part "Never See The End Of It" video series would have much impact to our loyal fans--many of whom have already seen these clips. However, I can now declare that I am a new convert to the podcast. Each day I am getting the new installment delivered to my computer in a higher res file that I can watch full-screen. I haven't had this much fun since last September!

If you've got iTunes, I recommend signing up for the daily podcast. You can count down with us as we get ready to head down to Austin for SXSW. Watch them again, for the first time.

Thanks to Danny Grinnell for putting together another great video. Check out all of his youtube postings, he is getting some great coverage.

While it has been unofficially announced all over the internet, SXSW just sent out their first official list of bands who will be performing at this year's festival. Sloan are on the list, so I might as well add all of the details that I have to date.

Sloan's official SXSW showcase is on Friday night. Yep Roc Records have invited us to play at one of their showcases alongside some of their other great bands including You Am I and Apples In Stereo. This showcase will be at The Dirty Dog, 505 E. 6th Street.

We are also planning to play some private parties while we are in town. So far we are booked for the Jane Magazine party on Friday afternoon (details to follow) and the Super Deluxe party on Saturday afternoon. Jane Magazine always throws great parties, and we are excited to hear what they come up with this time around. It will also be a treat to play alongside some of our favorite comics (and some other great bands) at the Super Deluxe party. This recent article in Brooklyn Vegan sums things up nicely.

We'll have more SXSW news as plans come together over the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned for updates.

Sloan grabbed a nomination for Best Rock Album in this year's Juno Awards. The Junos celebrate achievement in the Canadian music industry, and it is wonderful news that their latest album "Never Hear The End Of It" honoured with a nomination.

This year's awards will take place in Saskatoon on the weekend of March 30th through April 1st.

Today "I Understand" was featured as their Song of the Day.

In other encouraging radio news, "Never Hear The End Of It" has made it to the number 3 position on the CMJ chart for college and independent radio stations across North America.
