The competition will be formidable on Sunday May 25th, as Chris Murphy makes a guest appearance on CBC television's Test The Nation-Sports.

Will Chris' quick wit stand up to that of the other celebrity guests? Will the extreme sports team have a chance against the sportscasters? I guess we'll just have to tune in to find out.

"Believe In Me" has been serviced to Canadian radio, and it is starting to be added to rock radio playlists. Please request it played on your favorite local stations.

This song features a cameo performance by Patrick's father on the keys. He joined the band live onstage for their encore in Halifax last year,and Patrick invited him into their studio last December to lay down some tracks.

Gregory Macdonald fans can rest assured that "The Goose" will still be joining us on our upcoming live shows as Dick Pentland was unable to commit to the dates at this time.

Sloan will launch their new album, Parallel Play with a run of US dates. See our tour dates section for all of the details.

We are happy to be returning to some of our favorite venues with our friends The Golden Dogs supporting on most of the shows.

Plenty of updates on the horizon including photos and video from the making of the new album, summer shows, and a fall tour of Canada.

As a result of a timely tip from an astute fan, I can report that the Sloan episode of Beautiful Noise that was recorded last June is going to be on TV this Saturday. It will be broadcast on Sun TV (Rogers 15, Cogeco 8, Bell XpressVu 213, StarChoice 326) at 7pm (eastern) this Saturday, 26 April.

Parallel Play

Sloan have completed work on their ninth studio album, "Parallel Play", which is due to be released on June 10th. In Canada, the album will be available on Sloan's own murderecords, distributed by Red Ink Music. In the USA, we are once again working with our friends at Yep Roc Records.

The album was recorded this winter at Sloan's studio space and features 13 new songs.

We will soon have news about our summer and fall tour plans. We'll also have some brand new audio and video posted before long, so be sure to check regularly for updates.

Sloan will be performing on April 3 at Calgary's Olympic Plaza as part of the kick-off concert for the 2008 Junos. Sharing the stage will be Finger Eleven and Bedouin Soundclash, along with the New Odds, and the Dudes.

The concert is a free(zing) outdoor event, all are welcome.

Muderecords artists Pony Da Look will be playing at Toronto's Tattoo Rock Parlour Wednesday night, March 19, with Patrick spinning tunes after their set.

Patrick will also be continuing his Destroy Tomorrow dj night, this and every Thursday, in the Tattoo Rock Parlour lounge downstairs. He operates on a "one drink, one request" basis, or so rumour has it.
