Sloan are happy to be hitting the road across Canada and down the west coast of the US over the next few weeks.
We are happy to have our friends Will Currie & the Country French supporting on the Canadian dates, and The Golden Dogs playing with us in the USA.
It looks as though our management has once again inked a deal with radio sponsor MRCH. The inimitable disc jockey, Skip Lowe will be along for the ride, broadcasting live-to-air from most of the venues along the way, except where prohibited by local CRTC or FCC regulations.
Skip will be taking requests online, via text message, and live at the shows. I am obliged to inform you that "MRCH will be sponsoring nightly contests, a 50/50 draw, and a grand prize package to be awarded to a very lucky fan" at the end of the tour. Please consult the station's website for details.
Parallel Play was recently reviewed on NPR radio. If you were like me and missed the original broadcast, they were kind enough to include a link to
the review on their online player.
The vinyl release of Parallel Play is now available through
Yep Roc and the
Sloan online store. It is pressed on 180 gram vinyl with a beautiful 'tip-on' sleeve. If somebody suggests that "they don't make them like they used to...", you can point them towards this beauty. It also comes with a free download code for the album, so you can also place the songs onto your favorite mp3 player.
We have also added the new "Jay & Chris & Patrick & Andrew" tote bags. They are printed on natural cotton.
We recently restocked the DVDs, vinyl and older discs and we have put all of the older t-shirts on sale to help clear out stock before the new ones arrive.
We'll also have a fine selection of goods at the merch table at upcoming shows. Thanks for your support!

Patrick will be joining Toronto's Hell Yeah F**K Yeah on stage tonight (July 25) for the POP WITH BRAINS BENEFIT FOR CAMH. The show takes place at The Rivoli (334 Queen St. W.). Things get under way around 9pm, with Hell Yeah hitting the stage at 11.
Then you can beat it down to the Bovine (542 Queen St W.) and catch HYFY's Al911 dj'ing, with Patrick complaining "nobody knows that song, play this instead..."
Sloan's recent performance for the Orange Lounge series has just been posted on the Sympatico In Music website. You can watch each of the songs performed as well as an interview segment on "The Hook".
Thanks again to everybody who won tickets and came down to join us for the show.

I took a look in the mirror this afternoon and hardly recognized myself. At first glance, I am quite pleased with the change.
Welcome to the recently updated Sloan site. We are currently working through some major updates both on the surface and behind the scenes, so please feel free to alert us to anything broken or missing.
There are plenty of links to additional content on the way, so keep checking back as we renovate.

Sloan recently had the opportunity to record six alternate versions of their songs in an afternoon at
Headgear Studios. The results of the session are available exclusively through the new Limewire store as a part of their "Live at Lime" series.
The tracks were recorded on the fly with Gregory Macdonald sitting in on piano throughout the session.
You can click on the button below to take you directly to the Limewire store.

We are happy to announce that Sloan will be performing a free, all ages show in Toronto on July 23rd. We have been invited to play alongside BMO Field as a part of MLS Soccer's All-Star week events.
According to a Toronto FC news release, "We've organized plenty of fun, interactive soccer and music and activities that will appeal to soccer fans of all ages."
Hopefully the Sloan fans in the audience can teach the footies a new stadium chant: "SLOOOO-AN"!

"Believe In Me" is the most added song on Canadian rock radio for the second week running. It is currently at number 18 on the charts.
We are happy to report that the video that Sloan filmed and edited themselves, with a budget that would put even Van Halen's "Jump" to shame, has been added in heavy rotation on Much More Music, and light rotation on Much.
In other encouraging news, college radio has been a great support as well with "Parallel Play" landing in the top ten for two weeks running.
Thanks to everybody for continuing to make requests for Sloan's music on your local stations.
