Many thanks to those who showed up for the opening bash for Andrew's art show. Some of the attendees included manager Chip Sutherland, actor Don McKellar, Eve Hartling (formerly of jale), Rick White (Elevator), Ian McGettigan, Matt Murphy, Andre St. Clair (The Deadly Snakes), video director Mike Andringa, and about 100 other party revellers, who crammed themselves into the Zsa Zsa's tiny gallery space. Despite the obvious fire hazard, a good time was had by all.
(If you weren't able to attend the opening, you still have time to catch the show till the end of January.)
Here are some links to more articles with Andrew discussing his exhibition, and the progress of Sloan's upcoming album:
According to the New Music's official website, an episode featuring Jay will be airing today (Thursday Jan. 11th) on CityTV, and on Monday Jan. 15th on Much Music. The segment will focus on vinyl records, and their collectors.
Heads up all you artistically inclined (and artistically impaired) Sloan fans in the Toronto area: The Zsa Zsa Gallery (962 Queen Street West) will be featuring an exhibition of Andrew's work. The show is entitled "The Alphabet", and will include 17 of Andrew's own paintings. The exhibition will run January 16th - February 2nd, with the "gala" opening on the evening of Jan. 20th. The show is free (apparently), and is open to the public, and anyone who's anyone.
Thanks to everyone who braved the cold weather to see Jay and Co. spin some tunes at Rancho Relaxo's "International Colouring Contest" dance night! Photos taken that night are now available for viewing, and below you'll find a sampling of Jay's setlist:

And a belated congrats to our own Chris Murphy for recently being voted "Best Haircut" (first place) and "Sexiest Canadian Man" (runner-up) by Chart music magazine readers. Many thanks to those who voted. Your ballot stuffing efforts were not in vain.
CBC's Radiosonic recently posted some year-end "Top Ten" lists from some of your favourite Canadian musicians, including picks from Jay and Chris. Below, you'll find a complete and unedited version of Chris and Jay's choices:
"Just wanted to let you know that I'm going to guest 'Dee-Jay' at the "International Colouring Contest" dance night. It will be in two weeks (on Friday Dec. 8) at Rancho Relaxo ( 300 College St.). It's their first year anniversary. It will be fun if there is a good crowd!" --Jay
(There will be a small cover charge, and you have to be 19+ and carry valid ID. The whole sha-bang should start sometime between 10pm-11pm... See you there! Maybe.)
