Our own Jay will be co-hosting an internet radio show on 2kool4radio.com called "This Is Loungecore". The show will appear on the site next Wednesday (July 18) and will be archived at the site for a week.
Sloan has signed a new licensing deal with BMG Canada, after recently ending their contract with Universal Music Canada on amicable terms.
(FYI: Cameron Carpenter, who is the Director of National Press and Artist Relations at BMG Canada, originally signed Sloan to MCA Records back in the day...)

"David Wisdom is spinning maple syrup coated platters from Joel Plaskett, Danko Jones, Buck 65, Flashing Lights, Bullfrog, Stompin', Tom Connors, Hot Hot Heat and many more fabulous Canucks. Mar Sellars talks to Sloan's Jay Ferguson, Nashville Pussy's Ruyter Suys, Forgotten Rebels' Mickey Desadist, DOA's Joe Keithley and Tricky Woo about Tim Hortons, igloos, hockey, toques and everything else Canadian." --Radiosonic website
The show will air this Saturday (June 30). For more info, check out the official Radiosonic site. For local frequencies, or to find out how to listen through Real Audio, check out http://www.radio.cbc.ca/.
"There is a demo of a new Sloan song called 'Pretty Together' that is included with the new issue of Comes With A Smile (a nice glossy British fanzine). They are limited, but apparently there are some still available the darla records website. This song will not be on the upcoming LP either....but may see the light of day in a different form at another time." --Jay F.

Sloan will be sparring with "Canada's national treasure" Nardwuar the Human Surviette on Much Music's Going Coastal (which airs Sundays at 11pm ET). Nardwuar catches the band while in studio in Vancouver...
Sloan's infamous smashed rhodes will be up for grabs at a benefit concert for the White Ribbon Campaign. The benefit takes place on June 6th, as a part of the NXNE music festival. Festival wristbands are $18, and are available from various HMV stores, and ticketmaster. For more info about the benefit show, check out this article from Chartattack.com.
The Sloan boys will be heading down to Vancouver at the end of May, to start mixing their (still-untitled) upcoming album. On an interesting note: the band will be working with one of the guys who originally helped put together Smeared. (But I wouldn't hold my breath for a "Left of Centre redux". Or at least I hope not. Ha.) No new release date for the album has been set yet.
