The Sloan XX video series kicks off with this exclusive track-by-track peek at Sloan's 10th album, "The Double Cross".

New clips will be added every few days in anticipation of the album release on May 10th.

Andrew Scott and Chris Murphy will once again lace up their skates and join the rag-tag Rockers in their quest to defeat the NHL Greats in pursuit of the illustrious Juno Cup. The annual dust-up pits the musicians against the seasoned pros. This year's game is being held Friday, March 25th at Toronto's Ricoh Coliseum.

All proceeds from the charity game support music education through Musicounts.

Sorry to have been so quiet over the last few months but the band has been hard at work on our tenth studio album, The Double Cross. It will be available on May 10th from Yep Roc Records, and the Outside Music Label in Canada.

The 12 songs making up the album were recorded at the Sloan Space at the end of 2010. Who says the album is dead?

Jay wanted to share this insight on the album with you:

I think every band always says of their latest LP "it's our best yet!" or perhaps "it's our greatest work since Exile On Main St.", and then you hear it and you say to yourself, 'hmm, well, not quite, guys'. Hopefully I'm not joining those ranks, but for this our 10th album, I personally feel it's up there with my favourites of ours such as One Chord To Another and Never Hear The End Of It...short and sweet with unexpected turns down different paths. Not bad for a 10th LP.

The rest of this year, we plan on celebrating our 20th Anniversary (as in “XX” ..as in “Double Cross”..) with some very special shows and tours of Canada and the US throughout Spring, Summer and Fall. Of course, we would love to travel back to other countries if we can make it work out as we do not want to forget those outside of North America.

Our friends at Bunchland are inviting families to join them in their Dare to Drum, to help raise money to fight AIDS in Africa. Check out the video of Sloan's Chris Murphy & Andrew Scott along with their families banging the drums to help help raise awareness about this great campaign.

On Saturday, Dec. 4 and Sunday, Dec. 5th there are free Dare to Drum workshops taking place in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary. All you have to do is register to attend, make a donation (we suggest $10 per person) and come to the workshop with your kids. You’ll take part in a drum circle, have lots of fun, and raise money for the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s A Dare to Remember campaign.

Sloan will join Great Lake Swimmers and Bedouin Soundclash performing live in Toronto's Dundas Square as a part of CBC's live Culture Days event. On Thursday, September 23rd, the CBC will be hosting free live programming and events all day from Dundas Square. Details can be found on the CBC website .

It's a chance to meet some of your favorite CBC personalities, and enjoy some great live music. This event is free and open to all ages. Hope to see you there!
