Sloan will join Great Lake Swimmers and Bedouin Soundclash performing live in Toronto's Dundas Square as a part of CBC's live Culture Days event. On Thursday, September 23rd, the CBC will be hosting free live programming and events all day from Dundas Square. Details can be found on the
CBC website .
It's a chance to meet some of your favorite CBC personalities, and enjoy some great live music. This event is free and open to all ages. Hope to see you there!
The history lesson continues.
After diligent study and giving it the ol’ college try at a secret set during Sappyfest in Sackville, New Brunswick earlier this month, us Sloans are confident enough to perform our entire 2nd LP Twice Removed, top to bottom, at this year’s Halifax Pop Explosion.
Thought you’d never hear Chris sing Shame Shame? Patrick sing the epic Loosens? Guess again. Your dreams have come true! (OK, well, that one’s for for the Pretty Together fans… another time). It’s gonna be good. We’ll be playing at the Paragon Theatre, Halifax on Oct.21st. Check out the Halifax Pop Explosion website for details.
Hope to see you there,
Jay

Hello all....well, yeah, I know we have been concentrating as of late on our very own web store...but that doesn't mean we have turned our backs on the beloved independent record boutique!! As living proof, we Sloans will be playing a set at

We've been rehearsing some rarely aired and difficult-to-play B-sides, so come watch us sweat with determined concentration. Or maybe we'll just play some old faves.

Jay and Chris will be on CBC Radio's DNTO this afternoon talking about their recent b-side collection, and the nature of b-sides in general.
DNTO can be heard at 2pm on Radio 1, or via a multitude of podcasts, streams and re-broadcasts. Details can be found on their website: http://www.cbc.ca/dnto/
Hello Hello,
Dig, if you will. We're pleased to offer you the latest release on our digital Sloan store, the self explanatory collection named "B Sides Win: Extras, Bonus Tracks and B-Sides 1992-2008". 26 tracks! $9.99! ...and a new digital booklet with track by track commentary from Andrew, Chris, Patrick and myself.
These are songs that didn't appear on any of our commercially released Canadian LPs over the years. Instead, they surfaced on compilations, as extras tracks on the Japanese versions of our albums, as B-sides to vinyl and CD singles and other tucked away corners.
A number of these tracks were added on to their appropriate digital LPs when we launched our online store last autumn.
Due to insanely screaming demand and some gentle prodding, we've decided to collect those tracks (along with even more) and give them their very own album. Now, some hardcore Sloan followers may notice a couple omissions... but fear not, you completists!.. we're hopefully planning for those specific tracks to see the light of day on our digital store as part of more releases in the future.
At the edge of the scene,
Jay
