Fan Reviews

SloanROCKS! This show was my first exposure to the musical genius' known as SLOAN! A buddy of mine was a long time fan, and brought me along, little did I know that this show would make me a bigger fan than he was. Looking forward to the next time Sloan comes around Detroit, because I will be there everytime!

My first Sloan show as well. Of course, they were grand. I dug "Life of a Working Girl" with only Chris's vocals and Andrew on the keys...good stuff.
There were a bunch of stupid girls behind my friends and I screaming to hear "*Murder* City Maniacs" all night and spilling beer on my wife. I hope they woke up in a pool of vomit (not necessarily their own). Fools.

I'd seen Sloan many times in Detroit since the "One Chord" days. This was the 1st time I'd seen them with a spiffy slide show behind them. They showed their spot-on sense of pure pop knowhow & 70's rock cliche histrionics to great effect. Unfortunately while they continue to soldier on with big time success eluding them like the proverbial underdog rock heroes, they really deserve to be big stuff in the states. Of course, The Flamin Groovies should've had #1 hits, too. Sloan are still the best, live and on record.

I have seen Sloan 15 times since 93, in Detroit, Windsor, Chicago, Toledo, and New York. Been waiting for a while, and I do not really like outdoor venues (like tastefest) but they are playing this Friday in Pontiac and its been too long.

This was my first Sloan show, though I had been a fan for a long time. Ultimate Fakebook set the scene for what would be an intensely near flawless show. From Ultimate Fakebook's high energy performance, to Sloan's amazing set including my favorite tune 'I can Feel It', to my friends buying me pints of guiness, even though I was underage at the time, this show has gone down personally as the best Concert I've ever been to. I have seen Sloan since this show, at Bayfest in the summer of 2002, but this show was just amazing.
