Sloan

Sloan played to a half-filled TLA. They rocked, as anyone with their catalogue of heartbreakingly great songs would, but the audience was half-hearted. It's a crime they haven't really caught on in the states. I really thought "pretty together" was a step down for Sloan, kinda still do, but live the songs from that one were great. It's funny how that happens sometimes. There was a weird tension, due, I think, to the bands inability to connect with the audience. But damn, I give em credit for trying. I hope they tour the US again, but if Philly was par for the course, I wouldn't blame Sloan for staying where people appreciate what they do.
