First Sloan show I had ever seen. Drove about 600 miles to get there. It was pretty odd seeing them all come out and talk to the 50 or so people who were waiting in line to get in. By the time Sloan took the stage, there were maybe 75-100 people there, in a small room, we were pretty much all within a few feet of the stage. I remember Jay didn't sing very much, maybe he was sick? But the show rocked. I just wish I would have remembered my camera.
Jay might have been sick which would have explained it. I don't think I've ever seen a musician so unhappy to be onstage. He was the same way except even worse at the Captain Jack's Sit Down Fish Palace show in San Juan Capistrano. That place was ridiculous: all seating, no standing except way at the back. There couldn't have been more than 50 people (probably less) there. They did a medley of requests at the end from some chicks who were at the Pomona show as well (I think.) A mostly shambolic but fun night. Chris looked to be having a good time; Patrick and Andrew were neutral, Jay looked seriously pissed.
