this was my first time seeing sloan after many years of waiting, and it exceeded my expectations. the setlist was amazing, but the encore was even better. after a lovely performance of "life of a working girl" with only andrew on keys and chris singing and sitting on the keyboard, chris asked me to come up onstage and sing a song. i ended up singing my favourite sloan song, "500 up," with one of my favourite bands. it was an amazing night.
This show was truly awesome (of course), and I remember the band bringing that girl up on stage to sing. It made me want to cry I was so excited for her. I felt like maybe the band was disappointed by the crowd participation (or lack thereof), but I might have been projecting. I'm from Toledo, OH, and it's so close to the Canadian border that all the Sloan fans there are as fanatic as they are in Canada. I hope the inexperience of the crowd won't keep them from coming back. As a displaced Yankee, it was SO GREAT to have Sloan in my new backyard.
