I was so excited to see Sloan open for Pete Yorn in such a small club. Too bad they weren't headlining. The best part for me was getting a chance to talk to all 4 members of the band (seperately) before the show. I got my Bridges album signed completely. Chris put my name on it in big bubbly letters - he must have mistaken me for a 12-year-old girl (instead of a 26-year-old rock fan) - thanks anyway! :)
Two things I regret:
1. They had to leave Andrew's piano at home since it was only a 45-minute set.
2. Scaring the hell out of Pat. I was looking around for him before the show (there's only one door to the club) and when I spotted him, I took off running towards him screaming "PAT! PAT!". Hmmm, maybe I AM a 12-year-old girl. I apologized but he still seemed weary...
Great job gents!
Cool to see that the tour archive is this extensive (since I'm writing a review 9 years after the fact). I was pretty heavy into Pete Yorn's first album at the time, and I didn't even realize Sloan was opening prior to coming to the Norva. Anyway, I remember their set to be a very good one. I've enjoyed their music since the mid 90's (those of us who were early adopters of directv had the "much music" station and no MTV), and it was nice to sort of see them by accident.
