i'm going tonight!!!
I'll post when I get back from the show.
Just got back from the show at Legends. HOLY SHIT THAT WAS AWSOME!!! I was pressed against the barrier for 3 hours and I can't hear anything anymore but it was so worth it. I've been waiting forever to see Sloan in concert and it was amazing I must say. Even the opening band Cuff the Duke was good. Too bad Jay's voice was almost gone, but they still put on a hell of a show. I'll be back next time they're around. Awsome job guys, You rock!!!
Aaron
HOLY SHIT!!!! That show was awesome... but what the hell were those people thinking??? Crowd Surfing in Legends to SLOAN??? I was front row center... Gotta Thank 91.3 the ZONE!!! You guys totally made up for 5 years of MIA. Just a Kick ass Show... COME BACK SOON!!!!
Ya, well my ribs are sore this morning from being pushed up agains the rail all night at the front but it was worth it. The guys put on a good show, but mostly it was awesome to see them hanging around afterwards talking to everyone. It's nice to see Canadian rockers stay focused on what's important. Totally worth the three hour drive to see them. Sweet show!
ps-thanks for the guitar pick Andrew....
Thank you for such a great show! Holy shit that was awesome. My ears are still ringing and my voice is very hoarse, it's great. You guys played all my faves and the new album ROCKS! I hope that Legends won't smell like a sewer next time you play here. You totally brightened the rainy season in Vic! Please come back to Victoria soon!
This was a great concert. I enjoyed their music immensly. What I found was not quite enough accoustic grooves, and the instrumentals a tad too loud. I was interested in hearing more vocals, I think it had a lot to do with the accoustics of Legends. As a musician myself, I loved Sloan's harmonies and great team work they are as a band, and I got to see it! all of them got to do their things, and mean guitars! that was awesome. The opening band was quite creative using a violin bow on a guitar, i enjoyed that. and their use of keyboard. Enough of the opening band!, Sloan was excellent! Money City Maniacs is my favourite , and there I was hopping up and down like I was on too much caffeine! ( red haired girl with yellow jacket!)
woot!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey guys (if ya read this),
Your show at legends was great. I havent seen you in years and you still put on a kick ass show. Thats a talent in itself. The music was great and the energy was awesome, looked like you guys really were having a fun time. I know I was. I do have to trash the establishment though, what a dive!!!! Its smell and lighting were horrible, and I have seen some pretty sketch venues!!!! But as always Sloan saves the day with its amazing rock sound. You make me feel bliss while surrounded with shit!!!
Peace in the middle east................JJ
Excellent show guys. I already cant wait until you come back. It has been a long time since I saw you at the Uvic sub and you kicked my ass then. What a pleasant suprise to find vinyl for sale at the concert. I am listening to it nonstop. I took one each of two albums I didnt have and am looking for more on the murder records site. Thanks for the promo posters for the earlybirds in line. Sorry legends smelt like old dog, but we recieved one fifth of our yearly rainfall in a couple days, and I guess the joint must have flooded. You guys rocked that place, and I dont know of too many musicians that would make an effort like that with a shot voice. Another ubundantly satisfied customer. All the best to the best band in Canada. Mike
Me & My girls had a great time Sunday night! (Nicole, Chelseagirl & Rochelle) Hope you guys are having a relaxing time in Ontario! It was fun chatting with you and getting "the love" from Chris & Jay too :o) Chelsea will be sending her photos in soon... Until next time, "RockStars"
Amazing, simply amazing.
I took my fiance TJ to see the show and I have never been more impressed. This was my second time seeing SLOAN live and it was euphoric.
We were right up front being pushed against the barrier and singing along to every note.
Special thanks to Jay, Chris and Patrick for chatting with us for so long after the show and posing for photos. Also special thanks to their sound tech Deborah who was very helpful and happy dispensing road stories and info to us two technical theatre students.
All in all an amazing show!
P.S. to Chris Murphy: Hope your throat is clearing up and your voice is less hoarse. Remember, drink PEPPERMINT TEA! NOT CHAMOMILE!
Peace and good times to all SLOAN fans across the world,
Andrew Barton
All in all a good time was had, and the Kiwi I brought with me totally satisfied by his "real Canadian rock experience". Thanks for the classics from Twice Removed and One Chord to Another for us nostalgic types. The venue fuckin' sucked though! They ruined a perfectly good Hayden show last time I was there. So next time, play somewhere cool, like the Beatles on top of a building or something. Maybe a big barge floating in the inner harbour or Mayfair Lanes.
this show was packed. the minute we walked in, we were overwhelmed by the smell of the joint. we decided that it smelt like a typical trail basement, all rot and a little pot. the show was good though. a couple surprises in the set made us smile.
Jay, you are so much sweeter, kinder and more adorable than we we could have ever imagined. Such a sweetheart! Keep smilin' cutie:) Chris, it was very sweet of you to watch out for us and ward off old drunk men. Some people are born with the ability to give wonderfully warm, unforgettable hugs, and I know Rochelle and Nicole would agree, you are definitely one of them. Thanks for being such a dear. Hope you guys had a good trip back home and are getting some well-deserved rest and relaxation. Well, you guys were all amazing, the show was great , and we look forward to seeing you again. Hopefully sooner than later!
Luv,
Chelsea Girl
P.S.
Chris, hope your cold sore's all cleared up for next time (wink!wink!) :)
