Does anyone know who is opening for Sloan in Fredericton tonight?
Don't know but I hope it is someone good. Sloan should rock tonight. Crowd should be good too. Can't wait.
Joel Plaskett Emergency. They're good.
The Joel Plaskett Emergency isn't coming. They have gone back to Halifax for something. So it is going to be a different band. I wanted to see them too. Heard that on the Fox this afternoon.
The name of the group opening for Sloan is called UNDECIDED from Riverview (my 2 sons are in the band). They are rock, and probably all songs performed are their own. They are just starting out, and Sloan has been more than generous to invite them to open for them. The boys in Undecided are teenagers, but have written some good music, and I hope that the crowd at the Aitken centre will enjoy some local, homegrown talent. Cheers!
Loud, tight and polished.
Top notch show.
This was the best concert that i ever seen, even tho it was hot as arse, but what can ya do, SLOAN ROCKS!
The show was outstanding! I am still deaf! I love Sloan!
If anyone has any pictures from this concert, could you please email me? I only got a few good ones and the rest didn't turn out :( The concert was awesome despite the lack of photos I got :)
Yeah! It was an awesome show! Chris is a bass God! Up there with Geddy for sure!
Hey, great show, can't hear anything today but it was a good party all night there, thanks Sloan!
Help me out, for those that were there what was the name of the song they played as the first Song of the Encore?
can some write and tell me how the concert was,
the starting band UNDECIDED my friends in it
and i want to hear how he was.
THX
Great show! I saw these guys years ago at Parlee Beach and man have they come a long way. UNB was the perfect venue to check them out cause it was like one big party. I would definetly pay to see them again.
Undecided, there opening act rocked too.
i've been a huge sloan fan for 7 years, and last night was the first time i ever saw them live. the doors opened at 9, but i got there at 6:30 because i was just too excited to do anything but wait :D. my sister and i were the first people to get in, and we were total front-hogs the whole time. my only complaint? i had to meet my heros with my makeup all runny from crying at "i can feel it" and my ratty old breeders shirt drenched in the personal juices of strangers (it was really hot and sticky up front). oh well, they still put their arms around me when we did the picture thing :D. prognosis = awesome.
sloan was totally amazing@!!!! and the first band kicked ass too!
I was there and it ROCKED, Sloan was better than ever and LOUD the way it should be. The lead band Undecided was great. SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAN
I actually thought the crowd sucked. The band kept telling people to stop crowdsurfing because they were afraid of people getting hurt, but the drunks just wouldn't stop coming. Some total idiot even tried to set the sprinklers off by getting on someone's shoulders and holding a lighter up to one of the sensors. Good idea moron. Electrocute the band and cut the show short, that was good thinking.
Other than that, I thought they put on a great straightforward rock show. If I were into that type of music a bit more I would have been a bit more satisfied, but all in all it was a good show. On some levels I think I actually enjoyed the opening band a bit more. They had some great grooves going, and the drummer had some great beats. He was definitely kicking some ass with that double kick pedal.
The show was REALLY awesome....the guys rock!
I met them after the show and got pictures taken with them....so much fun! They didn't play my favorite song...."lines you amend" but it was still cool....I can't wait to check them out again!
This concert was the sizzleteen! The opening band did an excellent job; I could hardly ask for a better opener. I even bought their CD and had it signed. :p As for that other band that played... Sloan was it? Oh yeah, they totally rocked, too. This was the first time I've seen Sloan without 30,000 other people pushing to get to the front of the mosh pit which made it all the cooler (even though it was nasty hot indoors). Excellent concert and it was great meeting the band. They even signed my Nova Scotia flag! Someone pump me up and tell me that was classic!
Sloan was excellent...truly a great show. They played a complete set...what was it, two encores? I wish they'd play more of their older stuff though!
Karen, you rock the casbah!
The Sloan concert absolutely ROCKED! Even though it was hotter than hell in there, it was soooo amazing! The guys sounded AWESOME - they really picked out alot great tunes to get the crowd going! Their set was awesome, and their encore kicked ass! My voice box has finally recovered from all that singing (actaully, shouting more like). Thanks alot for coming to Fredericton! I hope you guys get back again soon!
I tried to add photos, but wouldn't work. I emailed em to sloanmusic.com instead so hopefully the get added at some point.
Cheers!
Hey , dose anyone have pictures of the opening band?
Thanx Derek
I would also like to see pics of the opening band! So if you have any, please post!
