This concert was great! Having been to a previous Sloan concert already, I was expecting much of the band's enthusiasm. I was very pleased that they palyed many of the best 'sing along' songs they've got since it totally added to the fun of the evening. The high light was getting to meet Chris as I "stole" in for a picture. A great event!
Hey that was an awesome concert. for those who don'tknow, it was our homecoming concert and it ROCKED!!!!. it was a blast and i know everyone had great time.
The Joel Plaskett Emergency, familiar faces and all, rocked. As far as Sloan goes, kudos to the guys on another solid show. I really enjoyed it. Nice mix of newbies (great album by the by) and the popular oldies. I especially enjoyed the return of Chester, as well as the patented Murphster "rockstar kick"...it's been a while. Looking forward to next time!
Thanks to Mike for the schwag, and enjoy your "minibreaks" ;)

Chester the Molester
If it feels good....
What a killer show. Lots of new stuff, and they played the old classics too. I still can't get over how diverse this band is. When the lineup changes like it always does, I'm always stunned. Thanks to Sloan for coming! You guys kicked ass!
Kick ass show guys...like always!! Anyone who didn't make it, missed a good time!! Joel Plaskett was great too...
I've been a long time Sloan fan, but this was my first concert. I have to say, it was awsome! I'd heard that Sloan was really good live, but now I can say for sure that they put on a great show. This one will have to go down in the memory books, and here's to many more concerts! Thanks for making my weekend a blast!
Great concert, the band sounded cool!!
I was excited to see Sloan again, but when I got in there I was really glad to see Joel Plaskett. He made the show that much better.
Great show again guys. Longer set than Edgefest, and some great tunes from the new album. My friends and I loved it when you played Chester The Molestor. Damnit that is a great song.
For anyone looking to see some great local (Kitchener/Waterloo, Guelph) talent, check out THE FLYING PUBLIC at The Circus Room on October 10th. Doors open at 9:00.
Thanks Sloan, keep kicking.
Sloan played an AWESOME show... totally rocked my socks off. Too bad there were a few morons in the crowd, pushing & shoving & crowd surfing. Despite that, the show was great.
I made (what turned out to be) the worst and slowest 4.5 hour bus ride from Oshawa to Guelph for the show. And it was well worth it. An awesome show, great music, impressive lighting, and excellent song selection. I had a great time and look forward to the next time you're in the area. I absolutely loved that you played Chester the Molester. You did a fellow bluenose pride. Thanks for the awesome show.
Hey guys! Joey's sister Laura here! (Joey as in the guy who did Murderscene with u a few years back). Just wanted to let u know that u put on a kick ass show!!!! You always do! :) I was going to hang around to chat again, but I didn't have time. But ya.. I just love the new stuff! The old stuff too obviously!! :) Keep up the good work and hopefully I'll be seeing you again soon!
Show #13 for me and I gotta say this was definitely in the Top 3 shows of all time. The boys had such energy and it looked like they were having a great time right from the get-go. I think Patrick was on fire that night because he was sounding great both on the guitar and vocally.
Song of the evening was Jay's "False Alarm." It sounded so awesome. Also, kudos for bringing back "C'mon c'mon" back to the setlist and a special treat with "Chester the Molester."
The Joel Plaskett Emergency were great as well. It was like a mini Halifax reunion.
Really looking forward to show #14.
I just wanted to say Thanks for the great show! Sloan is so tight as a live band now (Jay had to switch guitars mid-song and everyone kept it going no problem!). I had an amazing time -- even when someone next to me tossed their cookies and everyone cleared away, leaving a hole in the crowd into which one of the body surfers was almost dropped (haha darn). and Jay, the chest hair comment: it was a compliment!
Amazing show!! I've been a long time fan of Sloan but never been to a concert so it was pretty exciting for me. I always like a concert where I know all the songs and can sing along.
How long was this show in total? Does anyone remember?
anyone disappointed by the _pretty together_ tour (if that's even possible!) will not want to miss the energy of the _action pact_ wicawesome tour. sloan's received a lot of hype since the great performance at this year's edgefest and it's well deserved. the boys were in fine form at the u of g. i've been a die-hard fan since "smeared" and sloan's appeal hasn't wavered. you guys are still generating new fans! good on yeh! sloan fans: audience participation is key - do your research and buy the new one. and guys, when can we expect a release of the b-sides? the japan imports are great, but hey, we are students! don't make us download - it's bad for the soul....
This was my 4th sloan show, and it was great. People need to realize that Sloan is one of the hardest working bands in the world and that Chris Murphy has the best eyeware around. They really put together a great setlist, I enjoyed hearing Andrew sing out maybe my favorite sloan song "people of the sky". The Murph rocked out hard on the drums really showing sloans versitility, and kick ass rock talent. Jay was playing the strings hard even breaking a string on "the lines you amend" THATS ROCK. Patrick was also breaking strings in the early stages of the show and was belting out the words to all of the tunes. One thing needs to be said in this review....SLOOOOOOOOOAN
