WICKED SHOW! The show was amazing, lots of energy and awesome tunes! Hanging out with Chris before the show was really cool...super nice guy (even though he won't sign boobs haha). The Tangiers opened and were a lot of fun to rock out to.
Thanks guys, come back to Peterborough soon!
Great show - they should convert the Vibe into a permanent music hall - and start serving 50!
I think Piet should shut his mouth.....The Vibe built a foundation on all ages FRIDAY NIGHTS!! I love getting drunk in an alley....then going and sweating it up at the Vibe....then my mom picks me up at 11pm....NOW THATS A NIGHT!!
That show was awesome! saw you guys in toronto not to long ago but this time I was right at the stage and it was so much better!..patrick called me and my friend geek durning the concert haha
man you guys gotta come play my high school!!!
Best show I've ever seen!!! It was so good, that my eyes melted!! The only bad part was the dumb drunk kid next to me. I'd like to thank Patrick for pointing out me and my friend for singing along to "Who loves life more?", it was hilarious. HE CALLED US GEEKS. I'd also like to thank Chris for talking to me and my friend and taking a picture with us. Excellent show guys!!!!! Thanks for coming!!
Kyle

Woo!! Amazing show guys!! Definitly worth the looong trip (and worth resisting the temptation to visit the Jungle Cat World Zoo-thingy and the Canadian Canoe Museum) We're all glad you liked the "Yay 4 Jay" and "Elect Andrew Treasurer" (I hope that's spelled right) signs. We also send our sincerest apologies to Chris and Patrick for not making signs for them (we ran out of paper. Plus, we couldn't think of a good one for Chris) and our sincerest apologies to people who may have had their view of the stage blocked out by them. Thanks to Chris for MANY autographs for us after the show, and for pictures too. (and kisses) You guys were awesome and we can't wait to see you in August with Sam (when I'm 18...ha ha ha)
P.S Patrick, I love the hair (or lack thereof)
This may be a bit late; I just couldn’t stop thinking about that concert on Friday. Sloan, wow, they did an amazing job. I initially went to see Sloan, because well they rock. When the Tangiers came on though my reason for going changed. The Tangiers were 1000x better than anything I could have asked for. Sloan was good, but to me Tangiers were the best thing about that night. I highly recommend getting “hot New Spirits” by Tangiers, It is the best CD you’ll ever Buy ( well next to Cake and The Darkness).

Great Show! Thanks for continuing to play 'the sticks' (i.e. Ptbo). Have been attending the odd show of yours for over a decade (think this was #8)and will keep it up as long as you keep rolling out the albums. I think it's great that you guys are small enough to eat at Hot Belly Mamas but big enough to be noticed. As some of the other commentators have noted, you 'rock', but you also play some really intelligent, intricate, catchy and sweet songs and though they don't always translate as well when 'rockified' on stage, nice to hear them live just the same! Awesome show!
BIG LIGHTS, BIG SOUND, NO HEART....
let me explain...When a band gets to the point where they're fairly comfortable with where they are at, and no longer have anything to prove, it translates into the live performance. Friday night was BORING. This is coming from a HUGE sloan fan, but with the exception of a few songs, I haven't really liked the last two albums at all (I found them to be very forced, and the production killed them)...just the kind of generic pop-rock that is on mainstream radio these days. Basically when SLOAN starts to tour without a piano/keyboard (which eliminates the ability to play gems off Navy Blues and Between the Bridges), and WON'T EVEN ATTEMPT to deviate from their pre-determined setlist of hits and new rock crap, then something is wrong...but i guess it's a natural process, lots of bands hit that point, and lose the drive in playing, and the heart in the songwriting (dave matthews, black crowes, weezer, etc...)
P.S. Yes, I was the guy whose "Don't You Believe A Word" sign got rejected by the band...I mean come on, it's as if those talented musicians couldn't strum that song at the drop of a dime!!!
can somebody post a partial or complete setlist please?
wow... All I have to say this gurls night out was totally worth it. Me and my friends all went to the show and sorry all you sloan fans.. but we had never really heard of their slaon and there songs before but man we had a blast! I now love sloan and i have there new C.D!!! I love the energy and the ppl I met... thanx to the guy in the rugby shirt who was dancin like a disco freak, I was able to look at myself dancing and say " wow at least i'm not dancing like him!~"
I had a blast! Thanks!
