Just got home from Hampton Beach.
I was so jazzed to see the fantastic four.
I hadn't really thought that much about what the wear and tear of touring , supporting Jet, would do to Sloan. They sounded tired but soldiered on with their mastery of craft.
Walking from the beach to my car, I saw Patrick in the drivers seat of the tour bus, watching the sunset.
The Casino Ballrom sucks and blows. The acoustics and sound system eats it. Eats it raw. I saw them earlier this year, in May, at the Paradise in Boston. Headliners.
The sound was pristine, the energy and spirit was there. They killed the joint.
I'm glad I introduced some friends to Sloan back in May as this was nearly sad for me to see Sloan playing second banana through a worn out sound system in the acoustic equivalent of a gym. Chris and Jay managed to smile and rock star it up while Patrick and Andrew remained intense (I saw Pat smile a couple...) I hope the lads get the rest and rejuvination they need and deserve come August.
Camping? Hiking? Fishing?

P.S.
Though Jet is pukey pablum, I'm glad Sloan is getting to play to a new, younger audience, (i.e, future diehard Sloaners.

I am thinking in hindsight to last nights show. Sloan were in rocking form, no way around that. Everyone had great interaction with the audience, despite Chris telling me afterward that he didn't feel there were many converts there. The guy's were all in great form. I loved the loosness to the performance. That is the great thing about seeing Sloan, no matter how bad the sound system, or how small the audience, they always appear to have fun, and that loosness just makes it so much better. Hope to see the guy's around again in the fall, and hopefully this time, they will do me the favor and play in Connecticut. I am paying hand over fist in gas and train rides to NYC, Boston, Hampton Beach and Providence!

I really enjoyed Sloan I hadn't heard them b4 as I went to see Jet but they were really good. I want to buy the album now...rock on!

Hey everyone! I was at this show. I went because Jet was going to be playing there, and I had no idea who the other two bands were. Well, was I ever happy when sloan started playing. I liked them from the first note of the first song. Great show guys, i think i just may like you more then Jet now, hehe. Liked the guys so much that I went out and bought 2 cds the next day! Keep Rockin hard, I hope i get to see you guys again!

Peace and Love,
Andrea

You guys were very very good and I was so impressed. I was not so familiar with your music but for some reason I had heard of you before. I think I have seen a song of yours on a soundtrack somewhere. Ill have to check. I bought your new album the next day because I was so impressed by your talent. My friends and I met most of you at the end of the show and again I was so happy that you guys were so nice and down to earth. You really do rock and I am so thrilled to have seen you perform, I wouldnt have missed it for anything and It made my night! *Ashley*

Sloan was amazing...haha ashley...the person that posted proir to the this post (i think)...I went with her...and as for sloan converts...I am proud to be one...and there were 7 other converts that I was with that had not heard of them and now throughly enjoy what they do...but anyway...I got to talk to chris after the show for a little while...HE IS THE COOLEST MUSICIAN EVER...he was one of the most down to earth people ive met...it was awesome to carry on a conversation with someone you quickly admire...speaking of admire...I saw the girl of my dreams there...haha love at first sight...but i was too shy to talk to her...anyway...hey...um...girl...you were wearing a blue shirt...and you had brown hair...I was the kid with the long curly hair that you kept making eye contact with...If you read this E-MAIL me! none of you sickos though...but im pretty comfortable with the people here...they dont seem like sick pedifiles...anyway yeah they friggin rocked!!!!
