Having been a Sloan fan for years and never actually getting to see them live I was incredibly excited to see them tonight and I must say I was far from disappointed. My wife and I were front and center for all 3 bands and both of us (as well as the people around us) whole-heartedly believe that Sloan stole the show. They were undoubtedly the best sounding band of the night, and were also the most in touch with the crowd. I will say that Action Pact didn't excite me as much as some of their previous work, but after hearing the material live tonight I have a whole new appreciation for it. False Alarm, one of the stronger tracks from AP came across especially well. All the guys were in great form, Chris's stage antics were electrifying, Patricks voice was spectacular (and the harmonies from the whole band were as tight as any I've ever heard live), Andrew was amazing both in front of and behind the drums, and Jay was spot on as well (the aforementioned False Alarm and The Lines You Amend). All told a tremendous show, and I hope we'll have the pleasure of another Sloan show here soon. Thanks guys, you rocked.
There is a lot to say but Mostly ... YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!! Kick Ass Concert. Really know how to work a concert and play a wicked set ... VERY VERY Impressed... Another fan add to the horads.. Well Done Gentleman Well Done !
I went to this concert not knowing either of the two opening bands. Sloan really knocked me off my feet, even more so than Jet. I always like to see a relatively small-name band steal the show, which is exactly what happened. You have my attention.
For all those present at the show, I was the moron screaming at the top of my lungs near the bar. Seriously, though, the show was awesome. I didn't even stay for Jet because I had to work early the next day and I felt I got more than my money's worth just from seeing Sloan.
I too left early into the Jet set, but my wife and I had come from Jackson, MS to see Sloan and got our money's worth.. The guys were incredible, with "Money City Maniacs", "False Alarm" and "The Good In Everyone" as standouts, although the whole show was amazing. Even got to chat with Chris for a moment.
And for the record, it was my wife who screamed "Andrew you are so fine, baby!".
