Fan Reviews

Good show, but not your best performance in Edmonton. It seemed as though you were tired or had the flu or something. Thanks for playing 500 up, great tune. Sloan fan since 1994. Keep Rockn'

Thanks.

Holy Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've missed you guys on your last couple of trips through Edmonton. But it was worth the wait. Thanks for a wicked show. Money City Maniacs rocked!

Wow, this was my first time seeing sloan in concert, i must say you guys rocked..... 500 up sounded amazing, as did people of the sky , in which i was very impressed with Chris...your kick drum rocked man...... very supprised to hear, i can feel it,and am vert thankful you guys played it....very mellow.... good show boys, plz come and do a show at a less college boy crowd, if you want to see your real fans!!!!

Good set... They played a little bit of everything. It's good to see the new songs work well live. The Chrispop/Patrock is always sounds good, but Andy and Jay need to get more of their songs into the set. Just two from Andrew? Boo-urns.

I'm guessing they ate some contaminated "Alberta Beef" or were hung-over (not recovered by 11pm... c'mon guys) as the performance was lacking in places. You can bet Pat will reviewing "Losing California" lyrics before they bust that out again... And Jay's songs seemed half-hearted, but you can't blame the guy - he looked like death from the moment he walked on stage.

Advil and water before bed next time.

awesome show!!! but its sad you have played in crappy places when ever you guys come here, Reds was an awesome kick ass show but not the best to play in, and the UofA isnt the best place to play either, you guys looked like you didnt really want to be there, and i dont blame you i wouldnt want to play there either. But you guys rocked anyway!!!! i have all your albums and your EP, i was hopeing i could get an autograph but that never happened :( oh well, next year! next show you guys play here ill be there forsure. But if or when you guys come back, pick a better play to play, because there are way better places you can get a gig, maybe a smaller place even and youll see your true fans there!!! (like me...heh)

First time Ive seen Sloan. An all round amazing show!

Well, that was delicious. Your opening bands, were of course- fabulous. I must say, "the other man" was impeccable, and I thoroughly enjoyed the smile and nod from Mr. Murphy. I hope that you guys come back and visit us "university" ladies, because I think we love you.

First off, I'd like to apologize to Chris for interrupting his converation prior to thier set, being such a "gushy fan" and not turning off the red eye flash on my camera...
While it is always a pleasure to see you guys live, I, too, got the sense that something was awry. Tired, sick, COLD - alas, I may never know as there was no write up in the journal the next day.
I was just happy to see you in our neck of the woods at a small"ish" venue.

Hey Guys! Great Show! I agree that the venue didn't lend much to sound quality, but hey i was just happy to see you guys perform live. Thanks again to Chris, Pat, and Jay for taking the time to meet me and sign autographs after the show. Jay, if you ever need to borrow my marker again, not a problem!

One word guys ROBITUSSIAN.

Love Sloan music, big fan, but that concert hurt. I believe you owe the true Sloan fans of Edmonton another concert, one like your previous show at Red's where you were awake and enjoyed performing.

Students only! Screw that! If Sloan is coming, I am going and so I did. And yeah they did look a little tired , but I guess they were still on eastern time, and first show and blah blah. Anyway, not the best Sloan is still pretty good and overall it was good. I especially liked the set list because they played a few off of Smeared and Twice Removed. Smeared has always been my favorite, I like all the heavy distortion, I'd have " hit the ceiling" if they'd have played Marcus said, and it would have been cool to hear Step on it, Jean because it was getting rave reviews during the US tour. Here is the list of what they played ,but it's not in order:
Losing California
Take it in
500 Up sounded great
If it Feels Good
In the Movies nicely done by Andrew
The Other Man
Penpals
People of the Sky
Coax Me
I Can Feel It such a cool song
Money City Maniacs
The Rest of My Life
False Alarm nice job Jay
Ready for You
The Good in Everyone
The Lines You Amend
And that was it . Hey in listening to Action Pact I really like it but miss Andrew's stuff. I think I like Sloan better when everyone has their three songs each. Anyone have an opinion on this?

First of all, shame on everyone for being so hard on the boys. At least they came! I think we should all just sit back and appreciate the beautiful night that we had the privilege of attending. They were super awesome and Jay and Chris were LOVELY as usual. Patrick and Andrew were good too. Come back soon boys!

I always enjoy a good Sloan show even if I was standing in a spot where I could only see half of the band. The opening bands were great too. I really like Columbus, I'm going to go see them again tomorrow night. Apparently, opening for Sloan was their second gig. Right freakin' on.

The show was great, and what's more? I got to hold hands with Chris afterwards! ... or at least while he signed my ticket-wristband. I really can't say whether it was their best performance, as it was my first time catching them live.
