Patrick, Happy Birthday To You!
Great show! Was so happy to be able to be there for Patrick's birthday! What a hoot. I'm sad the tour is over :(
Love you guys!
Susan from Cincinnati
Thanks for coming to Indy! Really fun set. Highlights for me were Losing California, getting both She Says What She Means and If It Feels Good, Izzy & Angus, and the 3 from One Chord. Have a good drive home.
Sloan in Indy?
That's pretty hard to pass up!
I was born and bred in London, Ontario and now find myself living and working in Fort Wayne, a mere 2 hours north of Indy, so when the Indy date was posted, I was all over it.
I haven't seen the boys since the Navy Blues tour at The Drink back in London, so it's been a long damn time since I've had the chance to see them *Rock Out*.
My first reaction at seeing the stage setup was "no piano or keyboards??", because that would have been a very cool addition. But since I haven't seen them in ages, I guess they've eliminated that aspect from their gigs. Who knows?
But my minor disappointment about the missing keys was quickly replaced by outright *Rock*. Highlights? Hard to tell, the mix of tracks was pretty decent! I guess I have the soft spot for Navy Blues tunes, and when they dug up Iggy + Angus, I was happy.
From a fellow Canadian dude (wearing the Maples Leafs jersey at front) to the entire band, thanks for making the trip and genuinely having a good time rocking out for the Indiana folks!
Cheers.
Chris (London boy)
My second time seeing Sloan. Very Good. They brought the ROCK.
Seems like they went all out, and played a lot of their old stuff in celebration of the last show of the Tour and Patrick's Birthday.
"She Says What She Means" was definitely a highlight.
"Jules" took excellent photographs as well.
Great show!, and the Sights were cool. We got to talked with the band after the show. Thanks for the good music, and respect to your fans. I've converted 2 to the music of Sloan, and was able to get two others to the show. I'm next going after our radio station, and find out why they aren't playing Sloan. Hope you make it back to Indiana soon. It would be cool if you would come to our home town of Bloomington, In. Indiana University. I'd get them there!
show was a beauty, eh! my brother turned me on to sloan just a while back and it was great to see a band you're really into up close and personal just a few weeks after getting a first listen. i even got to talk to chris right after and i must tell you, he was the nicest "rock star" i ever came across. it is refreshing to see and meet someone who is truly appreciative of their fans! chris said they would be back in indy. we'll be waiting!
This show was so good that I had to wait until now to post this review out of fear that I might be gushing! My toes have not stopped tapping for six days since Indy, well, 13 days since Columbus, or 5 months ago in Cincinnati. Yes the past decade that I have been turned on to my favorite rock combo SLoan. Take a long deserved break, put out a greatest hits record and DVD, put up your feet, kiss your children, make some babies, and then give us a new record!
First I think we ought to thank Birdy's for being the only club in our little city to have the presence of mind to welcome Sloan on their tour. But then we ought to scold the venue for charging what they do for a beer. Christ, it's nothing short of robbery. Anyway, it was so nice to see the band rock so close to home. They dove deep into their catalog and played some fantastic early stuff. I'm re-discovering the genius of Smeared as result of this show. Best wishes to the band and a genuine thanks for bringing their brilliance to our little town.
