Pretty good show, the venue was quite small, therefore the sound wasn't that great unless you were standing right inline with the speakers. The small stage limited the frequency and ferocity of Chris' leg kicks. Patrick forgot/messed up the lyrics a couple of times, but overall a great show considering they just got back on the road.

I'm already looking forward to the show July 2, at The Kee.

Here's the set-list (rough) for those who are interested:

2/ - Underwhelmed
3/ - Sugartune

you guys absolutely rocked the Foundation. I was 5 feet from right center stage with my buddies directly under a speaker. this is the next night, and my ears are still ringing. the show was incredible, one of the best I've ever seen live. next time your in the area, I'm buying tickets as soon as their available.

Kick ass show!.The lead singer for the Opener was a hottie.Hope to see them again sometime.

Man i wish i could've seen you guys there tonight....17 can't quite cut it...Caught your soundcheck before the show though and you guys kicked ass!

Well boys, yet again another fantabular show!! My Sloan Board posse and I enjoyed our positions directly in front of Murph, which was a vantage point I'd yet to experience (I'm always on the Jay side). The performance was energized and I have many "special" moments I've committed to memory... as well as oodles of photo documentation, which I will post parts of at a later date.
All the boys came out for a visit afterward (minus Andrew, who was sadly hiding from the throngs). I want to make a written apology to Jay for having to harass him for a photo about 3 times due to malfunctioning cameras and bad lighting. (Sorry for interrupting your intense conversation). Patrick made my girl Miranda VERY happy which was cute beyond belief. Beth got her picture taken with Murph, wearing the infamous Marquee and the Moon quote. I'm anxious to hear if they play that for her in San Fran.... And me, well I was too giddy to remember any of what the Sloan boys and I conversed about, minus numerous compliments on my crafty shirt (a picture of Jay emblazoned on the front). All in all, a dream night!! Thanks again for all your efforts and your approachable nature (except you Chris, you CAD!)

Here is the fantastical set list:

Losing California
Underwhelmed
Sugartune
Line You Amend
All Used Up
Coax Me
Money City Maniacs
Before I Do (thank you so much for this!!!!)
In The Movies
She Says What She Means
Everything You've Done Wrong
Try to Make It
Snowsuit Sound (giggity giggity!!)
Suppose They Close the Door
Rest of My Life
The Good In Everyone

People of the Sky
The Other Man
If It Feels Good Do It

We made the trek all the way up from Detroit (a lovely 5 hour drive) as soon as I heard the boys were playing a couple of one-off shows in the Toronto area, and the people at Foundation were nice enough to hold two tickets for me at the door.

Foundation was a cool little club - openers The Weekend were surprisingly catchy, and the lead singer was absolutely hot ... something about a chick with a guitar ;)

Sloan came on around 11:30 pm and proceeded to blow the doors off the place ... they were tight as always, and played for an hour and a half, including some songs I've never heard live before ... the setlist included the following (not all inclusive, and definitely not in order):

Underwhelmed
Sugartune (new for me)
Coax Me
Snowsuit Sound (new for me)
The Good In Everyone
Everything You've Done Wrong
The Lines You Amend
She Says What Se Means
Suppose They Close The Door (new for me)
People Of The Sky
Money City Maniacs
If It Feels Good Do It
In The Movies
The Other Man
The Rest Of My Life
Before I Do (new for me)
All Used Up (new for all)
Try To Make It (new for all)

I may have missed one or two, but I think that covers most of them. The crowd was definitely into it, and since this was my first time seeing Sloan in their native land (after a few times in Detroit), I could definitely see the difference between Canada and the US - Sloan are definitely beloved at home like no other.

I'm so glad I got to go to this show ... definitely the best of all the Sloan experiences I've had so far.

Cheers,
Colin

Amazingly excellent show. Made flying 3,000 miles from CA to Barrie worth every bumpy, puke-inducing minute. (Barrie sure is a weird little town). The set list was incredible - Sugartune! - who would've thunk! I was especially happy to hear She Says What She means (love that bass line), and I have some nice pained photos of Murph nearly hitting those high notes. Miranda was sad that you denied her sign and did not play Pick It Up & Dial It, but I was thankful.

(Chris - Marquee & the Moon May 3rd in San Francisco. Don't forget, I will be holding you to it.)

Thank-You SLOAN! Great show, I had alot of fun!!! I was the crazy over the top red-head in the front row. I was so happy to hear Snowsuit Sound, Sugartune and Before I Do (Andrew! You blew me away). Thanks to all the nice people in the crowd that spoke to me, like the nice couple behind me (gotta love those rarities), the girl beside me that I stepped on a few times, green shirt guy (we WILL hear Sinking Ships one day, I just know it), Action Pact hat guy, nice fellow who reconized me from Hamilton (first time I was ever reconized for something) and who could forget the drunk man who grabbed Patrick in the hall and said "hey man, take our picture". You were all so special! Big thanks to Hannah for giving me a ride. Thanks to Beth for giving me a pack of trading cards. Thanks to Kevin for.......well...for nothing really. Let's all meet up again at The Kee July 2nd!!!!

Anyways, back to Sloan. Jay rocks!!!! Snowsuit Sound blew me away. I missed not hearing False Alarm, but Jay did clear up something about that song with me. It mentions the song Falling by Ben Kweller. This was a highlight for me because I love BK and I've been wondering forever about the connection. Go Jay! Lil' Stephie and I love you so much!

Chirs....you were being fresher then bread!!! I don't think I've ever had anyone talk to me the way you did. I wanted to slap you straight across that filthy little mouth of yours! And don't be thinking I've forgiven you just because you sweet talked me and danced with me a little bit. You really shouldn't have made fun of Patrick either!!!
Shame, Shame.

I love you Patrick!!!! I'am crazy of you. The new song rocks!!! Thanks so much for having a nice chat with me and signing my Chart and OCTA. It was the highlight of the night and your kindness meant alot to me. You are a real sweetheart. So are we still on for tracking down that MR guy and kicking his ass? I hope so ;P

P.S The evil DFA1979 t-shirt guy is going to be at the show on May 3rd. I know his pressence will annoy you but don't let him bring you down. His wife is a loyal fan and a really cool chick, so spare her husband your wrath. Don't forget to play Marquee and the Moon for her!!!

I guess I hit a nerve, huh? =D

what a night? I was on Jay's side, and he by far became my favorite. The was so sweet, and the way he jams was so cute. The rest of the band were equally good. The best part was front row (no one pushing me.) I was a loner(long blond hair, black and white sweater.) since none of my friends got as close to me and I was unable to get them up there. But I'll be a loner anytime if it means seen Sloan again. I have become obessed with the music and the lyrics.

And I was having the worse day ever, work went wrong, I got yelled at and ah! it sucked. But I got into the foundation and got front row. All my problems went away. Thank you! My days have been great since then....
