I just arrived home from the Waterloo Starlight Show. It was amazing to have the guys that close to the crowd! The rocked the house again, just like they did at the Lyric 4yrs ago! I am they're tallest fan, so I go the best seat in the house again! The best thing about these guys is the they are so down to earth, the stayed after to sign autographs, even one for my friend Josh in Switzerland! SLOOOOAAANNN!

BEEN A WHILE SINCE I'VE SEEN SLOAN.
VENUE WAS SMALL, AND CHARMING - AND THEY ROCKED IT.
SEE YOU IN BALA.
It would be nice if Sloan would post the names of the opening bands, since I couldn't make out the girl last night.
Show was good overall, but it didn't knock my socks off or anything. I'd like to see them through some different things into the show - maybe some chicken suits or biting off bats heads. Murphy said they had a problem with the PA in the end, but I think that was BS trying to get the audience to sing. Couldn't fool me....
It was pretty cool that Mick Jaggar showed up and played with them.
I was thinking, I wonder what high school those guys went to? Either QEH or the West - they wouldn't have made it at St. Pat's - not enough edge. That Chris Murphy would have spent his academic career in a locker. Speaking of Chris Murphy - has he ever had a different haircut? And the other guy - did he go through some traumatic event that turned his hair grey? Mick Jaggar's hair was looking pretty fresh though.
Overall - 8 out of 10. The performance was good, the sound was great. Maybe if they did something that stood out - played one song and morphed into another, told some good stories, maybe cover a Plaskett song ;) - I'd rank them hire. Some props to Hali or pepperoni would have been appreciated...
Could someone post the set list? I'm going to the show in Seattle and would like a heads up.
Sloan's perfomance at Waterloo's intimate, yet legendary Starlight Lounge was incredible to say the least. As Sloan came on stage last night the entire city was shut down as there were no longer any copies to match, plans to hatch, drifts to catch or itches to scratch - it was pure infatuation.

Great live show as always. Brought back good memories of my first Sloan concert at the Masonic Temple in '96. It was my first time at that venue. Small, cool and lounge-y. Only Chris stayed behind after the show and signed my set list. He was glad to hear that I had fun at Olympic Island. He shook my hand goodbye. I was gonna wear my Sloan shirt from '93. Shoulda woulda coulda. Oh well, next time.
Thank you Tallest Sloan Fan Trevor! I really need to tell you how us, the shorter people, appreciate your position standing back to the pillar! It's nice you understand that you are somewhat of a pillar of sorts yourself; happily the starlight provided us all with an intimacy to our boys that neither short nor tall will forget.
The Sloan concet in Watterloo was amazing! This was the first time I have seen the band live and I was definitely impressed. "All Used Up" was sounding great! Does anyone know if they are planning any Toronto dates this summer?
~Jackie~
ps: I think the opening band was called "The Weekend"
ARGH! I wish I coulda been there! Darn you, Sloan, for playing Waterloo during examtime! Me having a huge exam the next morning first thing + my friends all having at least one and often two exams the next day = me not able to go.
Boo-urns!
You gotta come back to the K-Dub for me!
