Guys
Just wanted to say thanks for helping end the Friendship Festival on a very strong night. Also, thanks for doing the Meet and Greet, still not sure about the guy with the megaphone.... Always a pleasure to work with you guys, hope we can do it again. best of luck with the rest of the summer.
Cheers

It was awesome! You guys rocked. It was such a great concert and I'm going out to buy your CDs tomorrow. It was just funny that you guys had to dodge the bugs flying around. Thanks for the rocking concert! Hopefully I'll see you again soon.
WOW, great concert Sloan never dissapoints, it was a great set, a lot of songs i haven't heard live before. I wanted to go see if I could get some autographs after the show, but the security guard was being a jerk and said "sloan doesn't want to give pictures and autographs tonight" it was a bummer, but it's cool, the show was great. Jay's Rickenbacker makes me want to buy one soo bad, just a couple of months till I get one! SLOAN ROCKS
Great show tonight guys, very impressive. However, I'm pretty dissapointed you guys wouldn't come out and give some autographs for the few fans who were waiting at the back. I hope there was a reason for this becuase it was quite the let-down, we waited for a good 30 minutes until a very rude security guard told us you were refusing all autographs and pictures.....?
It was awesome!!! You guys really know how to end off the night on a great note! and to think! the whole concert was free :D! Hope to see you again soon!
Hey guys, you kicked ASS!!!!! great show, hope you come back next year!!!!!
you guy's are sick i hope to see you next year
p.s nice glasses rick and chris
I enjoyed the fact that Sloan was in high spirits. However, a feeling of bitterness came over me as some of my friends stood a metre away from me backstage.
Patrick's rare yet adorably tantric smile made me feel a little better.
Live on!
wow. theres to much to say about you guys, to bad i cant say it all here. I was going crazy the whole concert.. you have really inspired me as a musician. and im pretty sure after seeing you guys lastnight had me learning as many songs as i could. and my band is definatly going to play your music thanks for the great show. you guys kick serioius ass
you guys were awesome last night. i agree about the whole distance between the stage and barrier thing. and the huge division down the middle was sort of dumb!
great show! can't wait to see you again!
<3
id just like to say you guys put on a fucking amzing show...this was the second time ive seen you guys and it was just great...hope to see you for a third time
The show was a lot of fun, I was so happy you played some of the lesser known great Sloan songs. The barrier was a little annoying for sure, especially having to be on the non drinking side because of a younger friend tagging along but thats just the way it goes. I still had a great sightline, so it was cool. The opening acts were pretty rocking, Ladies and Gentlemen will definitly be looked into more by me. I was a little sad at only two Andrew songs, but I guess thats how it usually works. Also it was sort of hard to hear his vocals, but that probably has more to do with the sound on the mic. I see he found a way to fix his favorite jeans, which made me laugh.
Oh and to the people upset about not meeting the band, you didnt try hard enough hahah. That guard was crazy but from what Patrick said, they didnt really have anything to do with that and just let that dude do what he wanted. But of course Sloan was willing to do pictures and autographs.. they are Sloan after all. (Well Andrew didn't come out but Im sure if the guard would have let us through right away without having to go all around the barrier he would have still been out there). My camera messed up when Andrew came out for his first song, so I didnt get pictures with them after, but others did. Patrick had tweens asking him if they could try his alchohol, which was quite hilarious.
Overall it was a great way to celebrate my birthday, and meeting most of them only made it better. I hear Sloan is playing U of T in September but I'm hoping even more that Foo Fighters have Sloan with them on their Toronto date this summer.
A very fun show - huge thank you to Mike for accomodating us with the backstage wristbands (I have some very nice photos to reward you with, to follow shortly) and to Patrick for the interview time. I’m increasingly impressed each time I get to talk to you – even more so now that I know you were a trek-geek. Please do a cover of the “Enterprise” theme song, ‘k thanks? Chris, thanks for the superlative rockstar poses, my lens seems to love you. Hope you’re feeling better.
Oh, and Jay - thanks for playing Poor Boy “especially for me” (*cough* dude, I have your set list, you’re not foolin’ me). But seriously, I loved every minute of it. Hope you had a “good time” later that night.
i'm from scotland and visiting family here in niagara falls and had never heard of sloan till i came here. My cousins took me to the friendship festival on sunday to listen to sloan as they are huge fans and after the concert i was so impressed.....it was great. I have now bought a few c.d's to take back home and let my friends here so well done and i wish i could come to more concerts.
That was a kick ass show, but I agree that the barricade was way to far from the stage. But I thoroughly enjoyed it none the less. Can't wait to see you again!! Love always, LK
Good lord. 2 sloan shows in 2 days with 2 days of traveling from San Fran beforehand were worth every minute of gruel. the patrique interview was f*cktastic, i am transcribing it now, and kiddies, i can't wait to get this thing published. we (beth, hannah and ms. april) all had a ferociously great time and must THANK YOU, MIKE! for treating us better than family!! we *luv* Mike!! the photos just barely show how enjoyable a show this was. i felt great to be on Canadian soil for the first time in 10 years, and can't wait to go back and see the Ladies & Gentlemen (openers) in BC this weekend. i especially loved the entire band hamming it up for our cameras. thx!
chris, thanks for the $10 offer, but seriously...keep the magnets :)
This was my fifth Sloan show (the second in less than a month) but it was my first time seeing the band play in Canada. Both the Friendship Festival show and the last Buffalo show were a ton of fun. I’m not sure how many other Americans were in the crowd but my friend and I were welcomed by the hardcore fans near the front barricade on the ‘drinking side.’ Everyone up front had a great time and we made some new friends, and isn’t that what the holiday weekend was all about?
Thanks, Canada.
Thanks, Sloan.
got dang it! i was unaware of SLOAN (I'm *sigh* American) Attended Friendship Festival with my new dude. Good times, I'm totally HOOKED. Can't wait to see you again. and again. Been listening non-stop to y'alls (excepting the equally delicious David Cross. He's right on re: America.)
Gonna re-see Virgin Suicides too in my zeal.
xo !
Wow what and amazing show, Fort Erie was my 2nd Sloan concert . Since I wasn't able to go to your show in my hometown of Kingston, we drove up to see you in Fort Erie. I made sure that we were front row for this one. Sloan was amazing as always, glad to hear Take Good Care of the Poor Boy, it's one of my favourites. My cousin Lisa even got me the set list at the end! Can't wait to see you guys again!
Emily
