I had been waiting to see a Sloan show for years!! That was absolutely incredible!!! Ending the encore and show with "If It Feels Good Do It" was perfect. There was so much energy!!! You guys really know how to put on an awesome show! The only thing I really missed hearing was Coax Me, so did the dude behind who kept screaming the name in my ear... You guys were really great!!! Canada ROCKS!!!

Wow, just got back in from the show at the Commodore. My first Sloan show, actually. Won't be my last. I missed them last time due to pneumonia. Next time, I will find a way to get there even if I am missing all my vital organs.

Impressive showcasing of the new album. Nice segues. It was great to see Andrew giving it his all up at Jay's mic with the Mosrite. Then he gave it all back on the kit.
Patrick, Chris, Jay, & Andrew (and Greg) > thanks for a great show. You rock as individual songwriters and performers and you rock together as a great band.

What a great show! Thanks for playing "You Know What It's About", Chris. Came back home, I, 'into a ball I have curled' again. You made me cried (;_;), thank you. "Light Years" is a brilliant song, Jay, I hope to hear that song live someday (maybe in Japan?).
THANK YOU, SLOAN!

The show last night was amazing! It was the second time I had been to a Sloan show, and they did not dissapoint! The set list was great, and the Commodore was an awesome venue. All in all, it was a wicked show, and I'm still waiting for my ears to stop ringing!

A fantastic Night at the Commodore! Sloan is definitely way up there on any list of great Canadian Bands. We came to see The Yoko Casionos on what must have been the highlight of their tour - "Opening for Sloan at The Commodore Ballroom in their hometown" - and their performance was outstanding. Thanks Sloan for taking the YC's under your wings, your mentorship is working! We also wanted to hear the music of the Band that the YC's hold in such high regard - You guys are good! We might be a little older (make that allot older) than your average fan, but we are new fans none the less. Who are we? Kieron's Mum & Dad - Keep on rocking!!

The show was awesome. Not only did Sloan rock the place, but the opening band The Yoko Casionos, were also really great. I loved how they got Misty to come and sing "I can feel it" durring the encore.

It was exciting to hear so many new sloan songs that I don't know yet, but I also wanted to be able to sing along more, but it was still an awesome show as usual.

Thanks guys

Wow Go YOKOS!!!!!!!!! very nice, you all rock,
yokos and sloan does it get any better?
Keep Canadian music alive and vibrant!
no one does it better then you guys & gal!
been into you both since Chad re:yokos (bloody chicletts days)and I listened to
coax me, driving 12 yrs ago in my mgb, funny I remember him saying "he would be in a band like sloan", now opening for them how wicked is that.
karma? premonition? who knows.. i'd say talent

I've been lucky enough to see Sloan live many, many times. I'd have to say that this was by far the best one yet! The Commodore is such a great venue. I've been enjoying the new CD so much and it was great to hear how the songs come off live...and of course they rocked on the old stuff too. Penpals??? I was in shock. Haven't heard that one live for awhile - so thanks for that. Also as mentioned the Can You Feel It duet was a fab highlight for me as it's one of my persloanal faves.

Lot's of fun banter as always at a Sloan gig. I was standing right by security up front to the side and was amused at the onstage antics.

I felt bad for the guy that came up behind me for the last few songs as he kept yelling 500 Up....not on the set list, maybe next time.

Anyways, I came home with one of Jay's picks and no hearing in my left ear....ahhhh, good times.

Oh Sloan, fantastic as always.

Openers were surprisingly good too.

Note to self: buy new album, learn all the words for next time ;)

Hope you boys are back soon...

Such a great show last night - i haven't been able to see Sloan live since the Smeared album. Freakin awesome. Well worth the wait! One of my favourites was missing "I am the Cancer" (hopefully next tour). Sloan is truly one of Canada's very best bands ever!

When I walked into the Commodore Ballroom, I wondered, “would we fit in?” A couple of middle aged folks from California. What would the crowd be like? What would the venue be like? Well, all of my concerns were completely unfounded. We weren’t the oldest, the Commodore was great, and the people, all you Canadians were just so nice!

The Yoko Casionos were a great opening band playing at home in Vancouver. And as for my first Sloan show, completely satisfied. Sure, I’d have liked to have heard a few more of the classics, but I can’t complain. I like the new CD so well that I was happy to hear so many songs off of it. And I purchased my first new LP, as in vinyl, in about 20 years, with the double album NHTEOI.

But what really made the concert special for me happened when it was over. I’ve read the other reviews that the band members, usually Chris and Jay come out to see the crowd. After meeting Mike Nelson, Sloan’s manager, I walked over to Chris and said, “Hi Chris. I’m Lee, and I drove 900 miles from California to see you.” Chris was stunned. He responded, “From California? No way! Thanks for coming! How did you ever learn about us?” We chatted a little bit, and when I told him that I completed my collection that day by purchasing “Peppermint” at a local store, he said, “You don’t really need that one.” I got him to sign the LP, and because they were trying to clear out the club, I went over to Jay, said hello, got him to sign the LP, and he was as surprised and gracious as Chris was.

As my wife and I turned to leave, reflecting on a show worth the drive and the expense, Chris walked back over to me, extended his hand, shook my hand and said, “Thanks so much for coming. Drive home safely now.” Wow. Just simply wow. With that bit of kindness, you’ve got a fan for life, Chris.

If I had one thing to do different on my four day trip to Vancouver, would have been to be on the ferry to Vancouver Island the next morning so I could have seen them again at Legends in Victoria. Seeing them once is just not enough!

Thank you again, guys. We had a blast, and will look forward to seeing you when you come down to California this spring.

And P.S. – We had a great little vacation in Vancouver! It was nice to get reacquainted with a city I hadn’t seen much of since my college days.
