The Show was so Sweet!!! One of the Best i've seen in a long time!
First time every going to a Sloan show and i was absolutely amazed. So talented and diverse i was so happy!! and now I'm infatuated especially with Chris lol No srsly I'm now a big fan!!
Having only discovered live Sloan the weekend prior, I made a road trip for this show since it was a "free" concert. The biggest thing I took away from it is that concrete floor does not belong at an outdoor music festival. But Sloan had everybody enjoying themselves despite the jarring lower back pain.
Golden Eyes was pretty sketchy, but I think we can write it off as monitor-mix struggles since it was right after the musical chairs. Other than that the set went great.
Hey Sloan! I saw you guys play at Ed Fest and i thought you were awsome! My sister *who lives in Halifax* told me you would be good but I didn't no i'd like you that much! Hey Jay do you know that necklace you put on at the concert? it was mine! thanks for putting it on it was like the high light of the show for me!
Sounded good, great vocals and harmonies. Something you don't always here from hard rocken bands.
The warm-up band sounded like the English group Kean. They were pretty good as well.
I havn't heard much of Sloan before. I think I will buy the CD.
That was probably my favorite Sloan show to date for the variety of songs they played . Quite a few older songs and lots from NHTEOI and it all ended with fireworks. I can't wait to hear what they come up with next ! See y'all out Vancouver way.
Deanne.
I wasn't a fan of Sloan before this performance. I was so knocked out by this live performance that I gained true respect for the band, especially considering that they stayed long after the performance talk to fans and sign autographs. One fan asked how much money they were paid for the show, "Not much, this show is basically for free." I then handed the guitarist a $5 bill in appreciation. He looked at me puzzled, signed it, and handed it back to me. I think there is a law against defacing currency?
Thanks for the memories Sloan.
