I had a great time, even though it was a short set it was great.
I can't wait for Sloan to be in Austin again.
I really wanted to go, but I made the mistake of getting there a mere 45 minutes before Sloan's set - the line was around the block and they weren't letting anyone in. I figured I'd be stuck in that line long after Sloan was done playing, so I just wandered around 6th Street. I almost bumped into Brian Posehn (who was at the show as a performer). All in all, a bit of a bummer. I hope you guys had a safe trip home.
I almost didn't get in to this gig. I didn't anticipate such a huge line for this one. I thought maybe they'll play the outside stage and I can listen from the alley. I got a lucky break through an acquaintance who left from the back entrance. She asked the door guy if he could let me in. It was a good thing considering they were playing on the inside stage...lol. Even though I had seen the official SXSW showcase and 2 other parties, I wanted to see them just one more time. I understand that Austin is not able to be on the list of frequently toured cities so I wanted to make the most of my opportunities to see Sloan. So thanks to the guys (you too, Mike !) for "surviving" SXSW :-).
