Another great show from Sloan!
I was bummed not to hear anything from Action Pact but the show was still fantastic.
Thanks for a great time Sloan!

A little sloppy at times but very entertaining nonetheless. Definite moments of Sloan-rocking-out that were awe-inspiring. A great time all around.
Sloppy, but a lot of fun. The band seemed to be in a good mood. Lots of funny ‘banter’ between Patrick and Chris. All but two songs from the new album, plus a nice chunk from Never Hear... and a smattering of greatest hits. My only complaint is that the band doesn't tend to dig into their catalog very much. Other than the toons from the last two albums, I think the all songs were singles from previous records (well, "Penpals" wasn't a single, but that's such a crowd fave it doesn't really count as a 'deep cut'.) I dug the whole DJ thing and the Golden Dogs were a very pleasant surprise. They were excellent. Get there early to see them.
Amazing show last night! I've seen Sloan 3 times so far, and they still manage to amaze me with their awesomeness.
They played mainly new material, and I thought it was great even though I am more of a fan of their older stuff. I wanted to hear more Jay songs though! I love him!
Another great Sloan show. I hadn't heard the new album before the show, but enjoyed the tracks played off of it.
I was a little surprised not to hear anything off of Action Pact or Smeared. The DJ was cool and the Golden Dogs were quite good. I really enjoyed the North Star Bar as a venue.
Looking forward to the next Sloan show. Hope it isn't too far away.
Thanks for the good times and great tunes! The whole 108.8 "THE MERCH" idea is brilliant...I hope you can repeat it for all the other venues. I'll see you this Friday in NYC for show #15!!!
Pretty good show. Jay had a tough time with his sound during "Believe" opener, which kinda killed the buzz of me wanting to hear that as the opener. Good mix of songs I thought, they played a good long time (a bit over 90 minutes methinks). The North Star ws a pretty cool place...and I liked the dj too. I hope they change their set up a bit for Bowery Ballroom. Yay Sloan! Thx for coming to our neck of the woods...
Show was sweet, new songs are great - the new album is fantastic. You guys need to work on your levels - I noticed during the last tour (Both in Toronto and at the World Cafe Live) and at this show that Andrew's Songs tend to sound really muddy and just like a wall of sound. When I listen on the CD you hear everything, but a lot of the musicality of the songs is lost live. (i.e. the Dogs, Love is all around, etc.) The Golden Dogs were an excellent choice of opening act - you guys always travel in good company, all the way back to University of Guelph with Joel Plaskett. Keep the annual trips to Philadelphia coming - it's a cure for my homesickness...
As always, great show by the boys from Halifax N.S. I had a great view from the front. Jay's effects pedal gave him a bitch of a time for most of the night. Still, it was great hearing all of the new tunes for the first time. For the record, it was a 23 song set with a 'brief' Q&A session between Chris Murphy and 108.8 before the encore. My ears were ringing for a couple of days after this one. Interesting use of Skip Lowe (aka Chip Howe) from 108.8 for the show. Sloan ALWAYS gives you your money's worth!
