Wow... they didn't take the stage till 11:30p. It's getting harder to stay up, especially for some of us that have to get into work before 8am; Yet, well worth it! Unlike last year's show, the sound mixing was set correctly. Sloan's new EP sounds great live, and this time on tour, they've mixed in a lot of songs I haven't heard live before. Thanks!

Great show as always. Sloan never disappoints. Thanks for coming out to Cambridge so regularly!

P.S. does anyone have a setlist?

this was my first time seeing sloan! ever! and i've been an avid listener for many years. i've just always missed the opportunity to see them live. before the show, i was sitting with a friend in a local cafe and who walks in but andrew and chris. i geek out, smile and wave and say "hello!" and they both do the same. perhaps that was a friendly sign of how the show was going to be that night. i was so thrilled that they played all of the songs off of the EP; they sound even more stellar live. and gosh almighty the amount of "between the bridges" songs they played! sure, it was late in the night when they came on, but i didn't mind it one bit. it was such a joy to finally see them after 9 years of not being able to.
i've uploaded some photos here if any of you want to take a gander.
and yes, thanks guys! do come back soon.

Great show, as expected. I've been seeing Sloan consistently now since the days of "One Chord...", and they have never put on a bad show, though I must confess, I enjoy seeing them more at The Paradise (so far, I've seen them at The Paradise, Middle East downstairs, and TTs)--TT's sort of limits them, since they really are an arena rock band trapped in the body of an indie rock band. There were some really good nuggets, in particular "At the Edge of a Scene", which is a B-side to "Don't you Believe a Word". Speaking of which, it was great seeing them give some love to "Between the Bridges", with that B-side, the A-side (Don't You Believe a Word), Andrew's "The N.S.", and "Friendship". I'm probably one of the rare Sloan fans who might consider "Pretty Together" his favorite Sloan record (though, admittedly, it's pretty tough to pick a favorite among all those great records), so it was great to hear them play "The Great Wall", but in particular "Who You Talkin' To", which they pulled off beautifully (complete with all the harmonies). All in all, a great show full of nice surprises. I gotta ask, though, what's up with Patrick? He would switch hats every couple of songs...is he getting eccentric on us with the hat switching and the beard? No matter, though, his guitar playing seems to improve every time I see them...quite the guitar wizard these days. Slooaaaaan!

This was my fourth Sloan concert, but the first (and thus far, only) time I've seen them without travelling great distances to do so. It was a great show, although I agree with Chuck, who pointed out that the Paradise would be a much better venue for Sloan - hope I can see them there some day! There were a few tech problems with the mics, but the band was perfection and every song was a winner. Just the right mix of crowd-pleasing songs and fan favorites, and all the songs from the new EP are wonderful. Andrew's newest song, Get Out Of Bed, sounds great and I can't wait to hear a recorded version of it! Come back soon, guys, we love you down here!
