Incredible show last night. I drove all the way from Staunton, VA to see the show because I couldn't make the DC date. This was my first Sloan show although I've been listening to them since Navy Blues. It was a great high energy performance. I can't wait for another chance to see them. Thanks for signing my CD. Now my wife will never hear the end of it. Ha!
Since the Sloan message board won't put up my posts (or return email; yupislyr are you reading this? What did I do to deserve such treatment?! PLEASE fix the problem or at least email me!!!), I am happy to report on the Cleveland show here. It wasn't the largest crowd for a Cleveland audience, but everyone at the show was very appreciative. We were treated to a fantastic set list, and some old 80's Jay Leno jokes told by Chris. Chris and Jay both spent a lot of time with the fans after the show. Sloan proved once again that they are not only one of the best bands in the world, but that they are also very warm, wonderful people!

It was an incredible night! I'll post some pix!
We ran headlong into Jay in the doorway of the club and I (like a complete dork) blurted out "It's Jay!" and he, after eyeing me warily, just quietly kept moving. After that rough start, the rest of the night was superb. Grog Shop's got a great sound system, and their bartender had a nice touch with the gin & tonics. Really enjoyed Magneto Lane's set. Sloan's set was wonderfully wide-ranging and they played a number of our very favorites. Also dazzled by Patrick's very sparkly new guitar. Most enjoyable score at the merch table - the trading cards! How great are those??? All around a very good night and we just wish Sloan would come to Wisconsin next time. But it was, as expected, a rockin' good Sloan Vacation for us.
This was my first sloan show and i have to say, it was amazing. I am hooked, can't wait to see them again, and i plan on it. 12 bucks for a great show where i could actually see the band and they didn't sound like crap?? you have got to be kidding me. I totally stared down Jay when he was playing bass during The Great Wall, and he flinched...classic Jay. Band sounded amazing, i have never been to a live show where you could close your eyes and the band sounds like the vocals were straight off a CD, amazing....wu!!
