Another great show by Sloan !!!
Maxwell's is a small venue with small stage - no "rock vamping" from Chris due to the fact that there was no room ! Poor Gregory was smushed in the back practically sitting on top of Andrew but it was all good - everyone sounded great (Jay & Andrew were outstanding !)
Highlights include "Don't You Believe A Word", "The N.S.", "Keep On Thinking", "Burn For It" and fan favourite "The Lines You Amend" w/intro (thanks to Gregory) !!!
Can't wait for Brooklyn !!
The new songs were peppered throughout the set list and there was tons of energy and the harmonies were perfect. The rest of the set list was kind of surprising because they didn’t play a lot of their “standards.” The Losing Californias, Money City Maniacs, and If It Feels Good Do Its had no place at the table. Instead there was room for: Sugartune, The N.S., Autobiography, A Side Wins, and Don’t You Believe a Word.
The encore ended up being a Sloan jukebox. Chris asked us to yell out songs and they would try to play them but they only wanted to hear their lesser played songs. This went on for about 15 minutes and they hacked their way through various choruses, verses, and solos. Finally ending with The Good In Everyone in full.
This was show #16 for me and I'm headed to Brooklyn to make it an even 17.
