Sloan

Wow, what a great show. The Montreal House is such a sweet place to see them in (tiny bar!!). Definately worth the trek from outta town. The setlist was super fantastic containing some fab new songs (Midnight Mass, Get Out of Bed), b-side favs (Summer's My Season, At the Edge of the Scene), old gems (Autobiography), and hits to satisfy the casual fan (The Other Man, Underwhelmed). They sounded OH SO GOOD, as usual. Chris had lots of energy and busted out some funky dance moves. The crowd seemed to have had a blast (I did, at least!). Instead of leaving the stage before coming back for an encore, they just stayed on the stage, frozen, as the crowd chanted. They then started the encore songs. Not sure why they didn't walk off the stage (probably because there is no back stage area? maybe because they're old and they didn't want to move? har har) but it was hilarious/ingenius. After the show, I talked to ALL 4 Sloans (plus a drunken/hilarious Gregory!!). Some of the chats were awkward (due to the dorkiness of moi), but most were fun!! Can't wait to see them as much as possible. Best band around. xo
